Not too bad for very low usage, as 1500 pages can last a 2 year period for some people. For high usage it's worthwhile looking at refurbished HP lasers with 100% fuser, as you can get around 20000 page toner for £20

Made by Samsung, good price and cheap to run with 3rd party toner. A laser for £30, what's not to like?!

If you're the sort that only prints every now and then and finds their crappy inkjet blocked up (Epson I'm looking at you!) then get one of these.

What are the costs for genuine toners and any recommended 3rd party toner brands (if any) for this Dell or Samsung as mentioned by some?

Is something like this suitable for someone who only wants to do printing on an occasional basis ?

Yes probably ideal, I only print once every other month and inkjets always block up and fail. I've got an older version of this and it's been used once every other month for 3 years without issue. It is black and white only though,

I have the all in one version, best printer ive had out of 5 inkjets previously. The original toners lasted over a year (I have to print 2 pages 6 days a week), cheap carts from ebay less than £20 for a set + 1 extra black. never had a paper jam or loss in wifi.

I asked since there seems to be some users who may have experience with this/Samsung version and would have saved my time going through lots of reviews and searching for what is good and not good in terms of 3rd party toners.

Do you have any particular thoughts about the toners?

Yeah I was being a bit cheeky, sorry
Personally I've bought some 3rd party no name toner and had no probs, the trouble seems that the same product is listed and sold by different sellers so the reviews say good things and bads things because the item reviewed may be different actual products from different resellers..... so I can only suggest thoroughly reading the reviews and see if they all refer to the exact same toner from the same seller.

I used Prestige Cartridges on Amazon and had no trouble (so far!) with the toner for my similar printer (Samsung 1865w) but that toner cart won't fit this similar looking Dell printer.

Impressed for the price.

thanks

Got one of these from eBuyer a week or so ago. Works great and a lot better than inkjet. Only thing is, the Dell Printer Utility doesn't work well with Mac. Every time I open it up, it knocks out my Bluetooth (rendering Mouse and Keyboard useless) and crashes!

cheap generic replacement toner cartridge (up to 1,500pages @ 5% … cheap generic replacement toner cartridge (up to 1,500pages @ 5% coverage) for £23.35 deliveredIf you do have a Staples store nearby have a look if they have the HP LaserJet P1102W in stock first, as it is potentially much cheaper to print with.

I have owned printers including this one and the HP LaserJet P1102W you mention amongst many others. I have to say the HP LaserJet P1102W is greatest printer I have owned. I actually have a second one still brand new in the box in case the discontinue it. Toner is under £10 on fleebay as well which lasts months. It's a which best buy and is one of the fastest printing printers. I've been most impressed with the reliability of it (It'll probably break now I've just said that), as I have always had issues with all my previous printers, especially printing wireless.

Ideal printer for low usage.

If this is not wireless and is not USB connector included how do you print? Does it have an Ethernet option? Thanks,

I want a colour one. The Dell one from the hukd tescos offer just blew up, still worth the £50 i spent on it 2 years ago.

For me, HP are the leaders of laser printing. I recently replaced an old laserjet that had just reached 2 million prints, and that was only due to getting something faster. Still worked perfectly fine

specs on dell site have usb connection

These cheap laser printers are great. For printing airline tickets, address labels & such you can't beat them.

Any good deals going on colour laser printers?

After seeing this I now want a colour laser printer with wireless. I haven't looked at the cost of laser printers for 10+ years, I had no idea they are so affordable now. Saying that I just read about the Samsung Xpress SL-C410W but the toner is to me very expensive still at almost £100 for a set! More research into other brands and toner costs required, which I am about to do.

But it is not included? so you have to buy it separate? not very professional..

I still have to say the Dell HL2250DN is still the best economical B&W/Duplex/Laser printer available as far as I know, but I'm willing to be corrected. 3rd Party toner cartridges will run you about £13 for about 2,600 pages. Amazon sells it for about £140 at the moment, but it usually hangs around the £70-80 range, not sure why it's gone up so much. In comparison, this Dell B1160 printer has 3rd party cartridges that will run you about £19 for only 1,500 prints and isn't duplex. On the plus side, it's cheaper to buy outright and it has a lifetime fuser unit. Typically with printers, the more you pay outright, the less you'll be paying in cartridge charges for printing, and vice versa. Heat added as I can see this will be more than adequate for most people.

think thats the case with almost every printer, might be wrong though

You're right from my experience. USB cables aren't included anymore. Saving every penny.
