Great price for a great quality laser printer!
Just be wary of print costs (high yield recommended)

So the usual cost model; sell the printer for roughly the cost of new cartridges

- doubtless there's also refill kits and chips on Fleabay if you can be bothered messing about with toner

Free next day delivery. Bought my e yesterday.

Nice printer.
Got one last time it was on deal here.
Networked it and wireless printed from my android phone/tablet without any hassle.
Although in true Dell style they are replacing the perfectly working app with some cloud behemoth. Why do I have a bad feeling...

20 quid was for a full set of four, actually nearer 18 quid for the cheapest.

Anyone with this able to comment on the noise it makes before, during and after printing? I had to return a couple of Brother printers due to them sounding like a jet engine during printing, and for 15 minutes afterwards the fan would continue to run.

whats the quality of prints like?

would it be better than my Epson inkjet which is 5+ yrs old. would be used for documents & the occasional photo print.

Curious to know about the noise it produces too and also how long the toner cartridges last (i.e. how may pages roughly). Naturally I know DPI effects this.

Bought this a few months ago at a higher price. Is a great printer. Very quiet and extremely quick. Haven't changed the toners yet but look very cheap on eBay

how long does a toner last? i am printing about 100 pages every month or so...and i might start printing family photos if ink is cheap etc

What is the warranty period for this printer? This printer on Amazon sold by Dell has 3yrs warranty. Will it be same on eBuyer as well i.e. 3 yrs?

Very happy with mine, doddle to set up, ready to go in seconds when powered up and prints from the pc, ios & android with no hassles.

I didn't get free next day delivery but 5 days

You mean ebuyer selling on Amazon. I would also like to know too

I'm hoping it's 3 years

Not the worst sound though, a jet engine.....if it sounded like a V8 F1 car I wouldn't hesitate in buying one.

A quick low volume whirr at the most (I had this sat right at the sound of me in the lounge - no more than 18" away) and printing is quieter than any inkjets I have experienced.

Decent enough that I have just printed a few old razor adverts and framed them for the bathroom, photo's are OK but with the low cost of getting enlargements printed online/instore at lots of places not really an issue.

Hi , i got the 1765 back in Feb - Got it due to the many many issues we were having with inkjet printers.. blockages - high cost of ink - compatible cartridges not working etc... I have to say its one of the best buys I have made. The thing just works with whatever I or my daughter throws at it. I wouldn't say it's a photo printer as such, but as for the quality it stands up really well to the laser printer we have at work ( think one of those devices that's the size of a fridge etc :-)

Last week was the first cartridge I had to replace, it was one off the link you posted, works a charm along side the other originals. I can see no quality difference.

As for how long they last .. well i guess that's down to how much and what you print. All I can say is that ours gets lots of use, and as the one who has to buy the toners I am mightily pleased with the infrequency of that occurrence

The only issue I have with this is the supporting Apple app. If you are doing anything other than just printing a document from iphone/ipad etc I find it incredibly frustrating to use. From the PC over the wifi it all works like a dream.

Got this printer when it was last on offer for the same price but 5 day delivery. The sound is nowhere near like a jet engine. Online reviews suggest approx 700 pages from standard toners and around 2000 if using high yield ones. I haven't had mine long enough to comment though. Setup was a doddle. Up and running in no time

Damn it! Guess what I purchased yesterday. I could cancel I suppose under the online act thingy but hey wait.... I will settle for the camera. Kick myself when refilling.

toner is rumoured to be carcinogenic.

Great price but what about the toner? Can anybody recommend a decent place to buy them at a good price?

Probably wont be as good as an inkjet for photos.

Its easier just to buy the odd photo prints online/at a shop with a print machine.

A set of toners will probably last you over a year.

Just my tuppence worth - got this from tesco at Easter and despite the display saying I was running low on black, I googled a reset to see how much longer I could get out of it. It's still printing with no issues and no new toner! Two adults and three kids printing whatever whenever and no clogged jets, I'm delighted! I'd recommend 100%.

That's why you make sure you don't breathe it in while you refill the cartridges, which is easy to achieve unless you are particularly ham-fisted. Hardly a problem.

It's not noisy at all, and I can't see anyone returning one as a result. So if that was your only issue, then I would get one. Also, as others have said, the toners are very cheap on eBay and Amazon; £20-£30 for a complete set.

Print quality is also excellent, vivid colours for images, and sharp crisp text. Although I wouldn't use this to print out any photos, laser printers are not made for this. I would get them professionally printed at Boots or wherever, or use an inkjet printer. Finally I can confirm you do get a 3 year next day in-home warranty. HTH.

I would never refill toner cartridges. It's not worth it. It is supposedly only slightly careening but it's the gone particles you don't want breathe.

We have one of these Dell printers (older model) for a few years now, we get cheap cartridges off Ebay. the last ages (far far longer than ink jet) and the print quality is fab! Can't recommend it enough..

Excellent printer, bought in May... Anyone can recommend a good set of toner replacement?

Have the wireless model and its such a chore to try to print anything. It never seems to be connected. Have trouble trying to link to 5ghz networks. Even when I switch to linked 2.4ghz networks I still have trouble printing and often give up. Any tips?

Effingell - if I'd known that I'd have made sure I'd ordered one before posting to hotdeals!

Dammit. I ALMOST managed to go a week without buying anything - and then I saw this. No more hours spent trying to clean blocked nozzles on cheap inkjet printers!

I bought this last time it was on offer and so far it's great (only negative is that paper feed tray needs to be jutting out when printing, but not too much of a problem if you can leave like this the whole time).

Can anyone confirm reliable source of cheap toner replacements for this please. Some Amazon feedback makes it seem as if it's still a bit of a lottery when buying anything other than Dell originals.

Our inkjet was constantly blocking with dried ink if we didn't keep printing off regularly. Wasted lots of ink just keeping the damn thing running. Eventually gave up and replaced with a Dell colour laser.
Laser sits there and fires up perfectly every time.
Colour is adequate for most jobs, but still send occassional prints off.

So why the Dell rather than this which is cheaper...
