Got one of the earlier models 6 years ago and been the best printer I have ever had. Cheap toner on Ebay as good as the original and never missed a beat.
Hot!

Full set of generic/refurbished toners starts from £13.99 delivered on eBay (up to 2,000 pages black and 1,400 pages each for cyan, magenta and yellow).

My old Dell 1250c colour laser is still going strong too, also I do really want to replace it with a networked all-in-one colour laser. I am just too cheap to pay £150 for one.

It may be worth mentioning that this printer is not Airprint/Cloud print certified, so might not be able to print directly from iOS/Android apps on your phone/tablet, other than the Dell printing app itself. For that reason the Brother HL-3140CW for £92.99 may actually be a better deal.

Looks like you can get cheap toner off amazon - roughly £8 a cartridge on their own.
Great deal with replacement toners from £15! (all colours + black) LINK
I have the all in one scanner version and it's so much better than inkjet if you're an occasional printer like me... no more blocked jets or wasted ink.
6% Quidco by the looks of it too. Hot!
Great printer. I print a lot and used to get through 2 inkjets a year. This is running as good as ever after 2 years and is very, very cheap to run with compatible toners from eBay.

Highly recommended
Nice one, I was toying with the idea of buying a colour laser. Shame it doesn't do autoduplex, but for the price seems good
This Dell or this Samsung..... ebuyer.com/724…see for £10 more??? (After Samsung cash back)

Hmmmm, the Sammy has a better resolution, but anyone got an idea on replacement toner costs vs the Dell?
Does this printer do duplex printing?

There is only one mention of duplex which is in the review saying duplex is easy, which is a strange way of saying it is supported so a bit confused.

It supports manual duplex printing.

Print the even pages in your document, turn the printed pages around and put them back into the paper tray and then print the odd ones.

Heated - Bought nearly 2 years ago and used daily for kids school work. Run it via wifi and gives very good results.

Agree, great printer. Small form factor, good connectivity with the Wi-Fi and NFC and replacements cartridges (non-OEM) are cheap.
Been waiting on a decent price for a colour laser as the bane of my life is dried up compats

That explains the review comment. Thanks.
Great price wish they had a colour version with scannner also on a good deal though

would it have been the 1250c from Tesco. August or September 2010 maybe.
sorry my mistake, it was 3 yrs ago... mine still going strong. what a printer! hotukdeals.com/dea…518
Is this any good for graphics / photos? They wouldn't be for presentation use, but I like to sketch and looking for something to print off reference images, rather than needing the computer and display switched on for hours at a time when I'm not actually using them...
Dell are pulling out of the printer market very soon and will be stopping production of parts and genuine toners this year also.
In my opinion you would be better off spending a little more on a Lexmark or Samsung who are more specialists in the printer market.
We just got a Lexmark for £155 plus vat at work, I'll post it in a mo as it was a great deal!

Had this printer for over a year. By far the best printer I have ever had. Third party cartridges are dirt cheap on eBay and last for ages. In fact the cartridges that came with it lasted over 6 months. Only wished it had a built in scanner.
Yup lovely printer we have tons of colour laser printers around 80-120 quid on here some with duplex but you check the toners and its either £30-40+.

2 bad points about this printer no auto duplex support and no scanner, you can of course get a separate scanner if you wish or use your phones camera, and duplex the dell supports manual so its still one of the best printers going and can't be beat for toner cost which is perhaps one of the most important factors!
I have this printer and brought it back in Jan when it was on offer (£90-£100) very happy with it no problems at all but I checked many reviews and did a lot of searching before placing the order. This is a good price I would say

I came across a lot of pro's main once to highlight were..
Quality print on standard paper (my review)
Plug and play
Worth the money

Con,
Access the ink tray is a bit fiddly.
Slightly slow when printing in large numbers.

I agree with the pro's but the con's I cant really say because I have had to change the ink or gain access to the tray so cant really comment on that part, Yes I agree its a little slow when printing in large number's for todays day and age it should be slightly faster.

I hope this helps whoever is looking to buy.
This looks brilliant, our laser printer is on its last legs! The only thing is that I'm also looking for a good scanner to scan in old pictures and digitise them and have them printed from an online photo site- would I be better looking for an all in one laser printer or get this and purchase a scanner separately? Anyone have any suggestions or have a scanner/ all in one laser printer that they would recommend that would be good for old photos? Thanks
Tempting but no scanner
WE've had the 1250c for years and upgraded to this earlier on in the year, for the same price (Must have been another flash deal) by far the best printer for the price around, we buy cheap cartridges off Ebay and never had a problem..

I could not agree with you more.

Inkjet is a waste of money.

could you let me know the model of your one? I want a printer with scanner too.

Thanks.

Do you have any more info on this? I've just checked around for the Dell exit, but can't find anything conclusive.
Traditionally Dell have supported their stuff for a long time, so it would be sad to see a total discontinuation.

Do you have any suggestions for around this price? I don't mind spending a bit more, but most seem to be quite a lot more.

Thanks.
Thanks, ordered, heat
Had this at home for 3 years and recently replaced the one at work with this (though the first one died within days). This is no longer available through Dell, so I assume that they are getting rid of old stock.

Mine is the now discontinued C1765nf which was amazingly only £120 but that was a year ago and it seems now to be only sold at high prices by a few retailers. Dell's replacement model E525w at around £150 (ebuyer) doesn't seem to use the same cheap toner carts... the cheapest set seems to be from £49 at Amazon but I dare say prices will drop

Purchase a separate scanner. I got a 4800dpi Canon LiDE 220 scanner for £50, which delivers a far higher dpi than you get in the cheaper multifunction printer scanners. It doesn't require any additional power as it draws power over USB.

I work for an independent telecoms and IT company and our distributor for IT advised us of the DELL exit around 2 months ago. They have already started clearing their lines of stock. I can't give an answer as to when exactly they will stop selling or producing but it sounds as if it will be this year, so no long-term support ahead.
Depends what you're looking for in a printer but there are some good deals on Lexmark at the moment, especially from Printerland, they're actually quite often cheaper than our distribution company's pricing!

I sold mine to buy that crappy Samsung clx 3170 I regret that decision had my Dell 1250 (something) going strong. Best laser colour wish that had ontop scanner with it

Dell has gone crazy in my opinion first they discontinued Alienware 18 and now printer line if I get it right
My last Dell (1250C) gave up the ghost after three years but at £50 no big deal. Bought, but always miffed that Ebuyer won't do free delivery to Scotland!!
I am tempted to buy it but it's really low resolution....
