Best price I have yet seen for this excellent MFP. I have one myself and am very pleased with it. Not the best looking printer out there but it produces great results quickly, quietly and (so far) reliably. Another plus is the availability of cheap(er) 3rd party toner.
Wifi works well but I can't get the Android app to work on my phone. Small footprint for a laser but still MUCH bigger than an equivalent inkjet. Only manual duplex but it's easy and quick to do.
This is an Ebuyer weekly special so might only be this price for a few days.

I was looking at these this morning as I need a cheapish wifi colour laser printer for home.

Can people say why this is cold, or suggest an alternative. Thank you!

Have just order one from ebuyer, showing up as £311 on dell website still, glad I waited on buying it earlier this month from dell direct, have saved a fortune on it. Will be so much cheaper than my conventional lexmark ink printer, and you can get a complete set of toners for £70. A bargain

new Dell C1765NFW Printer with 4 sets of IJT Toners £239.95 + £8.95 courier delivery

Seems a better deal to me. I have bought a few of their printer offers in the past and they all worked well

Any idea if these print onto ohp / tshirt / texture ok?

I'm pretty sure this printer uses the same toner carts as the old 1250 printer, so you can get a complete set for around £28. That makes the IJT/Morgan deal slightly worse imo because they usually remove the supplied OEM toner from the printer. (sneaky eh?)
£150 for printer and OEM toner + £112 for 4 sets of IJT toner = £262
IJT/Morgan = printer only + 4 sets toner = £249

IJT remove the standard Dell supplied toners and replace with 1 of the 4 sets. They are a pain in the a$$ for sales calls/emails (I got my dell printer 1350 from them on a similar deal).

Cost equivalent would be £150 (includes 1 dell toner set) + £69 (£23x3 toner sets) = £219.00
This gives you 4 toner sets (although the Dell supplied will be starter capacity)

Even if you went for 4 complete sets + dell starter the cost is £242.00 and you get an extra Dell Starter Toner set

Really like my Dell printer - Not quick by any means, but its been reliable.
Reviews of this one were marked down for being 'Expensive to Run' - this is simply no longer the case with the cheap toners you can get now.

Saw this a while a go when looking for a printer but decided to go for the Epson wf-3520 inkjet. Has all the same features & more, inks only £3.50 a set on eBay and I got £20 discount.

This is a colour Laser (LED), not inkjet. Plenty of cheap inkjet printers out there.

Capacity of toners is way higher and they don't dry out, prints don't smudge. Not as good for photos though.

Is a laser printer still good enough for photos (for average, non-professional use) or would it be better to chose an inkjet?

The picture reproduction is pretty good on colour lasers. Yeah, it's good enough for printing pictures or for posters / work documents. Just don't expect the same results as a photo from a shop or decent inkjet.

They lack the high definition and subtle colour tones / changes of a inkjet (the dithering). A modern inkjet can produce very good photos on the correct paper.

From Reviews (they seem a little mixed on this):
digitaltrends.com/pri…ew/
Comparing prints on the Hammermill and HP papers to our reference prints, the colors and saturation on both papers were very accurate. The photograph we use as one of our three test images didn’t have the vividness of a photo printed on glossy photo paper, but the colors, detail, shadows, and saturation were accurate. While it isn’t a photo printer – you should get a sub-$100 inkjet if you print photos occasionally – images on documents look good

Graphics quality is fine for PowerPoint handouts, even ones going to people you're seeking to impress, and good enough for use in basic marketing materials. Depending on how picky you are, you may find photo quality suitable for use in a company newsletter.

We can’t fault output quality. The LED engine delivers sharp text and detailed mono photos. Colour output is impressive, too, with vibrant photos free of discernible banding.

Went out of stock for a while but now back in, so deal is still on.

Hi
I'm looking to replace a 1 year Kodak Hero 5.1 thats never worked right..

Is this a good choice for general home / office printing..?

What about drum / fuser costs ?

Thanks

£2.50 tracked from Quidco

Original Poster

This is a LED printer and the drum and fuser unit are designed to last the lifetime of the printer so do not need replacing.
I am self employed and work from home and this printer has been perfect for my needs. Bear in mind that this will not do photos as well as the Kodak and is a much larger machine.

thanks photos are not an issue.

normal word, web and PDFs with images are the most it will be used for..

general office, study and home use.:-)

can someone confirm the warranty.

the main spec says 3 years, the full tech spec says 1 year..

which is it ?

ebuyer have confirmed 3year warranty..

It does say you cant use photo paper, does that include laser photo paper?

I've used 'Prestige Cartridges' for HP CP1215 toners for a work printer - they worked fine. Specifically for this printer - no. I got my printer from IJT and have never actually run out of the 2 toners (generic non-dell) I bought with the printer.

Never had problems with 3rd party toners at work or home. You will be covered by Amazon Marketplace if you don't like them.

Thanks. I'll get some ordered

Does the printer come with any toner/ink ?

Yes. The set included is good for 700 pages

Does Dell refuse warranty claims when compatible toners are used?

Is is possible to swap toners back and forth or is it the case that once toners have been installed they must stay put until they have been used up? I'm used to using refillable ink jet cartridges but I am not familiar with laser printers with compatible toner

This is at £149.99 on Ebuyer again with the 3 year warranty which seems great.

There must be a way of refilling the starter toner packs too..unless that works out to be more expensive that the compatible toners linked to earlier in the thread.

Is the lid hinge adjustable so thick books etc. can easily have pages scanned and copied whereby the lid can then be as closed as flat as possible?

Many thanks.

I tweeted Dell about 3rd party toners.. apparently they don't affect the warranty unless they cause the damage..

can anyone recommended based on experience a decent set of high capacity toners for this printer ?
