Nice deal. If i phoned do you think they would drop the price for not including the monitor??

Thanks!

Daz its normally cheaper to buy the package then sell on the monitor, Dell dont discount by much to remove monitors.

Ok thanks for letting me know

hey,

how long does it usually take dell to send an order conformation?? my order was placed at around 1pm today and recieved an email to let me know that i shall get a conformation email soon but im still waiting.......

Seems like a good deal as i am on the look out for a new PC for the parents.

The thing that really is putting me off is Vista Business as i do see the point of including a card reader when Vista Business doesn't really include anything to utilise this.

Maybe a call to them and that would put Home Premium on instead ?

They wouldnt fit the card reader if Vista business couldnt utilise it.

A call may get them to change the OS.

Yes but remember you'd lose the 4.5% quidco and the extra £25 quidco that is on offer until 23 Feb.

That is unless you can order online and then phone after Quidco has tracked...Mike can probably advise better than I can.

You're not going to get the £25 quidco on that. It has to be over 400 before vat and delivery. So a £530-540 system depending whether they are vating the delivery

My mistake when i wrote

'The thing that really is putting me off is Vista Business as i do see the point of including a card reader when Vista Business doesn't really include anything to utilise this'

I meant that Vista Business doesnt include Windows Photo Gallery which can take full advantage of the card reader.

I have phoned the parents and they are discussing before i try and contact Dell to see if i can persuade them.

My view is that if you are buying a PC for home use, then you want Vista Premium. You will be limited by Vista business...features you dont want and lacking in features you do or may want.

Look to upgrade it if you can.

Given it is the slimline case, I take it that a full size PCI Express graphics card would not fit into this? Does this require one of the custom built half height cards when upgrading? If so, does anyone know where decent half height cards can be purchased? So many questions...:)

sorry - had a query about the E520 - have reposted on that thread
