This has increased in price by £4 since I posted it today, there is 20% discount on 3yrs warranty (£103) if you require it.

Bought one of these using 305-D10E12 - £646 delivered. Upgraded to the 5000 cpu, 19" ultra sharp, 2 * 1gb DDR2 leaving 2 slots free for upgrade and mmc card reader all for £780 delivered.

Its my first AMD system, absolutely stunning, plays half life2 on max settings giving stunning graphics no freezes or slow movements ans still on the std 7300LE nvidia card. Cant wait to upgrade it!

Massive performance difference to top end p4 cpu's, dual core is the way to go.

Welcome to HotUKDeals pdg1967 and Thanks for the info/useful feedback

THats a great price.

But what annoys me about Dell is that they throw all that nice stuff inside a nice shiny box - then put a crappy graphics card in! That system would be on my list of must buys if it had a half decent one!

Thanks for the link Ray...managed to get a decent review of my son's graphics card..which may persuade him to keep it...but he has money burning a hole in his pocket so I guess he will upgrade.

Yeah - the card was ok a year ago! But that review is from Nov 2005.

Agreed though - depends what you want your card to do........ if you want to play Oblivion - then DONT look at this card!

The problem is the pricepoint Dell have to get to for you to be interested in buying. If they were to fit a £250 graphics card as the base option they would sell very little as most users dont want or need high end graphics, if you want all singing graphics then use the options to choose a better machine/card albeit at a premium price tag.

All I can say for the price you cant do better, I bought this with the view of slotting in another £150 graphics card the moment I got it. I almost had it ordered before pc arrived, glad I didnt because after loading on HL2 and Far cry etc I was amazed at the performance of the gutsy little 7300LE. Im sure the AMD x64 5000 and 2gb DDR2 help the little card along but it is impressive! Will be saving my cash till after Christmas.

Excellent forum BTW.!
