Thanks

The link doesnt go to a specific model. Do you have an E code for this please?

With the bonus quidco amount AND the usual amount this is an absolute bargain under £400.

Seancampbell, Quidco gives you that £43 discount actually... Sorry for not mentioning it before

ah sorry you made it sound like a Dell discount. might want to edit OP?

I'm thinking of upgrading my current PC,which is a dell..
5100 3.0ghz,
1.5GB ram
250 sata hardrive
256mb PCI graphics card
DVDwriter and windows xp

How much do you think i would get for the above on ebay?
And how much quicker would the core2duo be?
I work a lot in photoshop, dvd authoring software....
thanks

core2duo would probably be a vast improvement especially if your software takes use of the 2nd core... at least 40% faster. Cant see you getting much for the old one after postage and ebay + paypal fees.. £80 perhaps? a few PCs in for sale or trade try comparing.

Wow i thought my old PC was worth about £200!
Probably best keeping it as a second PC.
Anyway many thanks for reply

if I were you I'd salvage the parts.. 1.5gig of RAM and 256mb graphics added to this system running vista would be a beast of a machine.

The Dell Dimension 5100 is fairly new actually... Try to see whether it is a 5100c or a 5100. Chances are that you might upgrade it to a Dual Core Pentium D. But no Core 2 Duo for you.

Does this Dell have a free 16X PCI-E slot?

How would this become under £400 mate? Isnt the price shown of £425 includes the discount.

Sorry just that I thought I might be missing something..the lower the price the better but not sure how?

Think you will only get £10 off bonus.

System is 408 inc vat, so only about 350 without, so under the £400 ex vat/del for the £25.

Might interested in the 5100, Got an old 4300 which can only support disks upto 120gb and its grinding now
