If you have an Amex card you might find that the £100 back on a spend over £750 at Dell is back in the offers section.

Do you know if you can get that card if you have low income (but still can spend the required amount)?

I bought a G15 with Ubuntu a year ago, was quite tedious getting Windows on it though. Did a format, loaded installation media and had to do a bit in command prompt to get it from FAT32 to NTFS. Worth it in the end.

Excellent price for this spec. You can also add the 4 Zone RGB keyboard for free, though it is a US Layout. (edited)

Check reviews and forums online and see if folk mention problems with the thermals. If they are, steer clear no matter what the price. Dell have lousy thermals as I found out to my cost when I got a G5 with gaming spec a couple of years ago. I really regret it.

Great spec, terrible build quality, cheap and plasticky and regularly crashes due to overheating. Customer support is terrible. First one they sent had to be replaced due to a sound issue (which wasn't really fixed on the replacement) then that was returned for a warranty repair due to the overheating issue. They kept it a couple of weeks, couldn't replicate the issue so changed the SSD, and managed to forget to reconnect the the LED strip on the chassis when they sent it back.

Seemed a little better for a while but then started overheating again (and now out of warranty). Have to use a cooler tray with fans blasting out if I want to play just about anything.

I will never get a Dell again.

We have some Dell laptops at work (Vostros), all seem to break at the very small and weak hinge or the screen comes away at the bottom until it becomes unusable as a laptop. Often within a year. Just not strong enough.

for the small saving on offer from Dell over Legions when on offer with the new Intel or AMD CPU`s with a RTX 4060 and a 1440p panel it is really not worth it unless you need all the thread's of the 12900H.

    I think you'll need a G16 to do that.

I’ve heard a few complaints about thermals on this chassis with higher end components (the lower systems are fine) and this is a budget platform too (lots of plastic). I think other laptops might be better in this price range.
