I had to return the Benq one I bought as the gloss finish was a nightmare during the daytime as it kept catching the light reflection, the plain matt finish on this just fine for me.

20W power consumer is very good for 24" monitor

is that why it needs so many fans? surley that one at the front would take your eye out.

Been after a new monitor for a while now. This has tempted me. Thanks to the OP.

if this had a HDMI it would be perfect

That is very good especially as it's 1920x1200.

“12 Months RTB Warranty”

Not ideal unless you have a spare monitor as if it breaks you are without a monitor for maybe a week or so and you might even have to pay the cost to return it.
Most monitors come with a 3 year on-site warranty which means you usually get a replacement the next business day.

Tempted by the 2408WFP, but a bit concerned that these are both open box customer returns. The only reason i can think for people returning a monitor is dead pixels below the cut-off for a 'faulty product'.
I don't think the 2408 has been made for a couple of years now...

That's a refurb

The G2410 is open box too. Should be added to the title.

Lol

good find hot from me

They're second hand monitors.

Just reading that open box means "near perfect" has put me off.

+1 shame as I would have defo bought one!

Yep - quite probably dead pixels.

Avoid I'd say unless you can call in person and check it working...

headings well misleading, its cheap cos its second hand

Just wait for the LG IPS LED monitors to come out. They are going to blow everything else away.

Some conflicting information here:
"12 Months RTB Warranty" or "Minimum 6 Months manufacturer/Students RTB warranty" ?

Not sure the deal is that special for used goods.

Shame it's returns, must be something wrong with them..

Had a look at their grading system on their website, hopefully there should be no issues.

There are guys selling these graded products on eBay for £185, the ebay description says: "Refurbished by Dell - AS NEW – 1 Year Warranty There are no dead, stuck or bright pixels. The monitor may not come in its original packaging, in which case it has been safely re-boxed by Dell."
Hoping it's the same?

I have bought 2 Dell refurbished laptops from the Dell outlet before and they have been like new with no issues.
However my last laptop from Dell direct has had numerous problems with the screen, but their after sales service has been excellent.

I'll let you know what mine turns out to be like on Wednesday

might be worth getting ... if it's in decent nick it's a bargain, if not, they are selling refurbs (with marks) for more money on eBay.

Im not getting a new monitor untill 1600p becomes the standard, only a matter of time, current ones can only be found for about £700-1000.
Or if amd would finally get round to supporting 3D, and companys released monitors that do not need 3D glasses like the 3DS
Edited by: "dpdg99" 26th Mar 2011

3D is not going to become big anytime soon - even without glasses because you have to sit dead-on straight to get the effect.

When it comes to monitors you need good viewing angles and colour accuracy and response times.

Mine arrived today.
As far as I can see no stuck pixels. Looks brand new.

Well chuffed. Was in a Dell box with all cables and Driver disk.

Also this is Height adjustable & tilts vertically and horizontally. This is the G2410H model.

Mine arrived too, absolutely perfect, in a huge box, really nice stand too, very high quality item.

Way better than the 21.5 inch Benq LED that I had returned.

Really happy.

I did have to play around with the settings a bit to get a picture I was happy with. A useful web page with calibration tools to help you is here

I am tempted to order another.

6 moths rtb vs 3 year onsite must surley indicate the quality of the product even if it looks new. Eitherway I guess the discount price takes that factor into consideration.

The Delivery was quick and everything else was fine, now i need to give them a call and see what i can do, chances are its gonna cost me to send it back which is not what i am hoping for.
