I used Honey to check for coupons and the code "DELL10NJ05" gave a saving of £114.90.
Hopefully this helps someone.

The Rx 5600m and rtx 2060 have very similar performance levels. Benchmarks have them within 2 percent of each other which is negligible.

Now this is tempting...do I wait for the new HP Omen or go for this

My thinking too, but I really like the new HP Omen
I am very happy with my Omen 17
This is really good value, although still tempted by the new Asus ROG with the Ryzen

Yeah I really like the new look of the HP Omen too. I’m hoping it will have the same thermal performance as the HP Pavilion as that’s been rated one of the quietest gaming laptops. Surely it can’t be long now?????
5600m don’t think it’s as good as 2060.
Waiting on the new HP Omen here too

Is the rx 5600m similar in performance to the rtx 2060
How is Raedon RX5600M compared to Nvidia 1660Ti or 2060?
I went for the Asus tuf a15 ryzen 4800h rtx 2060 1TB SSD 144hz. It was an extra £150 though. Very good laptop. This Dell looks good and is at a good price point, however doubts remain over the GPU. Would love to hear a review if anyone gets one
Does the 5600m have dedicated VRAM or does it take it from the system RAM?

It’s DLSS2.0 Support (forget ray tracing on the 2060) that’s swaying me to the new HP Omen though.

It has 6gb of GDDR6 memory
Looks good. Shame there are no discount codes available the moment
You can get 100£ off with AmEx

any benchmarks for the 5600m?
Is this version same level as rtx 2060 or just below it
Anyone know when the new omen is out or the spec yet?
I was holding out for HP Omen as well, but seeing as This will work out £160 cheaper or even over £200 if Quidco pays out, I bit the bullet. GPU seems to be similar to 2060, but AMD SmartShift is also something that interested me so we will see.

Edit: Reading some comments on youtube, apparently with Dells GameShift mode it gets to 2070 Performance?

I thought the new Omen was supposed to be £1199? Is that not so?

Yeah, I ordered with Unidays for a price of £1034.

Ahh right got ya I’ve been holding out for the Omen based on the £1199 price tag, glad that’s still the case!
In the US, they have a third cheaper option with a lesser 60 Hz screen. We don't appear to be getting that here yet. I might just hang on to see if it appears in the coming months.
Will the display be freesync enabled?

Also.. what's with the usb-c only being another video port! It's already got hdmi and a mini displayport..

Nice. I'm hoping the a17 (or MSI/Dell/HP equivalent) gets the same CPU (or the 4900) GPU... frustrating as I'm ready to buy but want a 17" screen

Yes. Response from AMD rep on Reddit "Hey there! Thanks for catching this. Rest assured the Dell G5 15 SE is equipped with AMD FreeSync technology on all configurations with a 144Hz display for smooth, stutter-free gaming!"
I'm currently waiting for reviews on the Legion 5, Omen 15 and failing that, I'll be looking at the XMG Core 15.
These laptops are really decent specs.

Just got off from dell livechat, and it doesn't have amd freesync. Similar to the hothardware review you added... they said the 144hz amd freesync monitors will be released later. Their 144hz review unit doesnt have freesync
I can't seem to tag OP, because their account has been banned?

Anyway, there's a way to get this quite cheaply. If you know someone with an Amex card, they're offering £100 off a £750 purchase.

So if you go via Quidco (for 5% cashback), then Unidays for 10% off, then pay with Amex, you can potentially get this 4800H laptop for only £880 ish delivered

I'm giving it a miss for now as the USB-type c only accepts video data and the display doesn't have Freesync, as well as no option for the 68whr battery.

Hi, I am op. I was logged in through another account for some reason when I posted the deal and got automatically banned.

People point out Freesync is missing from Dells website and get a reply from AMD here
and also it is listed as Feature on AMD website Here and this blogpost

I used a Unidays code and went through Quidco, but not sure it will pay out. Something about using a code and they don't pay cashback? I dunno. Wish I had an AMEX card as well haha. Looks like, You also get about £30 back in Dell Rewards.

I agree about the USB C port but thankfully It won't affect me.

Ouch! That's a fair price. I guess Lenovo aren't really looking at competitors pricing.
There's a dearth of reviews for this machine right now but he's one to keep your attention...

BTW, I'm intent on getting the 4600H variant. The CPU is probably already seriously better than the old i7-9750H & that was until recently, deemed sufficient for most games.

The 4600 version has the same GPU, if you upgraded it's RAM to 16gb like the 4800, would you get the same gaming performance? I wonder if the 4600 is a better match for that GPU?
Edited by: "markinoxon" 26th May
I've been toying with the idea between a 4600 and 4800.
Main reasoning was that a 6 core part would probably last sufficiently until the GPU requires an update.
