Is the screen only 60hz? For a mid to high end gaming laptop, they should be 120hz+ as standard.

Otherwise this is a pretty good deal

Edit: On further investigation, I think it's actually a 144hz display, going off the advertising video, so yeah this is a really good deal imo

Can the code be combined with the 10% unidays anyone know?
Max a vs normal 2070 reduced speed slightly and saves battery and lower temps for thinner laptops just ahead up if people assume it's a regular 2070.

Yeah its hard to tell, most reviews talk about a 144hz panel but you'd think Dell would be promoting that. Can't be any worse than the TN panel in my asus!
Pretty sure it's a 60hz screen on this, I checked last time it was on offer, the 144hz is a option but for some reason it gives you no option to add it. If I'm wrong then please let me know as I'll probably bite at this one if it is 144hz. No point all that power and 60hz unless you will mainly use it hooked up to a proper monitor.

60hz screen confirmed, just called dell, which is pretty pointless with a 2070 running at 1080p

That's what I thought.
But I just used their webchat and the person said it was a 144hz display. I asked him if he was 100% sure and he said I would have to call tech support.
I feel like I dont know what to believe now.
Did anyone buy this last time? Can they confirm.
liking the fact that prices seem to be coming down for these spec gaming laptops hoping for further movement over black friday and leading upto christmas

thanks for posting good price heat added
60hz is that a joke? not surprised it is so cheap, 100% they have full warehouses
Just a warning, I had a send one of these back last week due to huge overheating issues, the cooling isn't capable of cooling both the CPU and the GPU at the same time. At idle just sitting at the desktop screen with nothing open my CPU was hitting 70 degrees.

That seems normal these days as thin and light is apparently much more important than adequate cooling.

Yeah, I had to explain it to the people at Curry's as it's a gaming laptop that can't do the one thing it's advertised as.
Thought this seemed abit too good to be true, 60Hz screen though...
This was posted a while back. I am sure it was confirmed at 60hz. The curry done at the time was 144hz.
60 hz, complete waste of good laptop hardware!
next.
Just had mine delivered. Slightly underwhelmed with the performance as i sold a 1080ti desktop. the GPU is actually the lower of the two 2070 Max q variants which is the lowest of the 4 2070's.
There are Desktop 2070 > Mobile 2070 > 90w 2070 Max Q > 80w 2070 Max Q. Basically expect 2060 mobile performance levels!
Also it is a 60hz panel and there is no option to configure a 144hz.

Its bigger and heavier than i was expecting, with the use of the Max Q i was thinking it would be thinner and lighter.

It is a good spec for the money, however i am thinking of returning and may get the 15" with the 144hz and full fat mobile 2060 for the same money, or look for an alternative with the full 2070 mobile. Better screen, similar performance, almost a kg lighter.

Great service from Dell though. When ordered ETA was 03/10 to 10/10. Mine was delivered 02/10. I requested a return yesterday and they contacted me quickly and i have arranged for it to be collected.

Keep an eye on the outlet if you like this laptop - there will be one appearing there next Friday once its been collected!!
It's a Dell... nooooo!!
