Carphone Warehouse have a special price for the Dell Inspiron 11z laptop of only £299.

The Dell Inspiron 11z is listed as a Celeron CULV processor (exact spec not shown so could be 723 1.2GHz or 743 1.3GHz). It comes with a large 11.6" screen 1366x768, 2GB of memory running at 800MHz (max 4GB), 250GB hard drive and Windows 7 Home Premium. It has Intel GS45 integrated graphics which have hardware acceleration for H.264 video decoding and can play some current games at lower settings.

It also only weighs 1.4Kg so much lighter than a regular laptop. This is a much better deal than the basic 11z model sold on Dell's website for £349 with Vista Home Basic and 160GB hard drive.

5% Quidco for online orders (£15 cashback).

still overpriced for the spec

Too expensive for a netbook no matter what spec.

Far better spec if you buy a Samsung NC10 or N130 and upgrade the ram to 2gb. Would work out cheaper to.

Disagree. Much better performance, and screen size than a netbook for a little more.

Slower and not much cheaper than a typical 15" laptop yes; but far more portable. For me, that's a good compromise.

Agree with Eez, but still a good discount

I don't think so - this is much faster than an Atom based netbook and has GS45 integrated graphics which can do H.264 video decoding - and displays on a 1366x768 11.6" screen. What do you think is better at this price? I have a couple of these laptops myself and I can assure you they are miles better than a netbook in terms of performance.

How is a netbook with an Atom N270 a "far better spec" than a Celeron CULV which is twice as fast? This comes with 250Gb hard drive and Windows 7 Home Premium.

Well i bought my AA0 A-150 for £150 so I reckon that was a better deal. If am paying 300 bux for a laptop I want dualcore.

Look Simon, its getting cold.

worth keeping eye on dell outlet

got the dual core version of this couple of weeks back inc vat & del with white cover for £275

celeron version not that fast but the dual core almost keeps up with desktop

needless to say at this price it aint gonna compete with my mac mind !!

Still single core celeron and £300:whistling:

ion platforms perform just as well as these, the price should be 250 quid before I would think about one.

Not with an Atom CPU. Can you buy an ion based portable with a Celeron or dual-core CPU?

What sort of battery life do these have?

The main benefit for me of my Samsung NC10 is the 7hr battery life.

But it's got a usefully higher screen resolution and a better size keyboard, without being the surfboard size of a typical consumer laptop.

[FONT=Verdana]It's definitely a national deal with Carphone Warehouse - I saw them being advertised over at the stores in the West End of London as well.

Edit - Here's a few reviews out there on the internet for it.
