Good price for the spec, but I'm waiting on the Ryzen laptops announced today. Similar cpu performance to Intel's top of the line and much betters on board graphics (good enough for older games or new games at 720p). Will be cheaper than Intel equivalents too. Should be out in the next month or so.

If you do buy this I'm going to give you some free advice:

Wipe it out and reinstall windows 10 from scratch. I spent a few days trying to work out why three of these had the same bug and couldn't sort it.

Essentially, copy would work (contents copied to clipboard) but paste would always be greyed out. This would affect text or whole files. Interestingly ctrl+c plus ctrl+v would work and so would drag and drop in for explorer.

Nice device for the money tbh - just wipe it!

I have had this for 2 years. I enjoy it. I pai just under £600 in a Paypal Dell deal.

The screen is very good. But the case wore incredibly quickly. Not impressed with that.

Plus it really does have a heating issue - not really enough vents on it to cool it dow and their positioning is appalling. When I place it on a flat surface part of the vents are covered. I am lying in bed now typing this, with the laptop on my stomach on top of my duvet, and the fans are going full blast because the duvet is covering the vent holes - it is just bad design. You need some means of propping it up at the back so that the vents are not even slightly covered otherwise it heats up and then you get problems.

Also, battery life is poor. Very poor and way below whatever it was that Dell advertised. I was hoping to use this to work 6 hours in a cafe but I am lucky to get 2 hours. W*nk.

Would I buy it again? Nope. I like the screen and the size format but there are better competitors out there now for around £500 to £600 and Dell continues to charge a premium for this well over the prices of the others.

£475 on dell outlet with a scratch and dent. I bought one a couple of weeks ago, can hardly see the damage.

never use a laptop on a duvet, the vents will be blocked forcing the fans to run full blast and will decrease the battery life over time. also the dust will clog up the insides much faster than usual.
get a lap tray or tv dinner tray or something. can get them for under a tenner.

also as the other poster said, keep watch on the dell outlet, i bought this 6 months ago for £460 or something. still going fine, but the fans do suddenly spin up and blast at full speed for a short while at random times. not very often but annoying.

*our battery lasts about 5 hours the few times we used it for long periods of time.

are we talking about the laptop or the price or both, there appears to be a separation.
try the code before discussing the spec.
try trustpilot before deciding.

I have this - love it - but fans are an issue - i used intel extreme tuning utility to limit the power whilst in library etc. - to keep temperature down and the fans dont start up

Battery life isnt an issue for me - I get a full 8hours work done

Works well for me
Great price

I also bought one of these from the Dell Outlet earlier this year. It was refurbished and looked new when I received it. 16GB RAM and 256GB SSD for £580 so keep an eye out on the Outlet store. I am very happy with it.

Same advice goes for Lenovo laptops. Love them, but boy do they bloat it with pointless, resource heavy, invasive software. After a fresh reinstall, all is well - and noticeably quicker.

Paid £594 recently for a certified refurb I7 16gb RAM and 512gb ssd on the Dell Outlet site. Also got two years onsite warranty for £84 extra.
