Basic cheap laptop, someone posted a version of this from Currys which has now gone up by £50. If you missed it, here it is again.

Someone else posted the HP version of this (same spec) for £299 with FHD screen. Prolly not worth the extra £70.

Basic laptop, for basic duties.

  • Intel® Pentium® Silver N5000 Quad Core Processor (4MB Cache, up to 2.7 GHz)

  • Windows 10 Home in S mode 64bit English

  • Intel® UHD Graphics 605 with shared graphics memory

  • 4 GB, 1 x 4 GB, DDR4, 2666 MHz

  • 128GB M.2 PCIe NVMe Solid State Drive
  • 14.0-inch HD (1366 x 768) Anti-Glare LED-Backlit Non-touch Display

Do dell have a Quidco or TCB?

That's a great find GL.

I know it's a Pentium but the SSD should boost things - and its NEW!!!
Looks pretty good. This or an Apple iPad...have the kids working through Ed Place worksheets atm
Not bad deal at all with the cpu roughly equal to a 7th gen I3 for performance.

But to be fair it's much more versatile.

How? I have both windows and macOS and the only thing the Mac does worse is the office suite. And that’s because Microsoft have purposely made the Mac product worse than the Windows’s version.

ok it seems macOS has improved over where it was.

Personally it presents a big learning curve over Windows and being more expensive is not an option I would look at unless I had to have specific software that would only run under macOS.

Graphic designers still seem to want to use macOS but I remain skeptical & believe they overstate 'the benefit' of macOS v Windows versions of software packages in that space.

Did your Mac cost £229?

Meh, dell have had the same looks for years nothing new. The MacBook is hardly an innovative design that's inspired manufacturers! Just following on from the older ultra book format.

£20 more and with a full HD display would be a nice option.

I voted hot though because it is new and will suit most folk that just want a cheap lappy
PM me if you'd like a 5% off student discount code, worth about £11 on this.
This will possibly be very unpopular here but I’d take a used 2012 MacBook Air over this.

Better build, better OS, better input devices, similar price.
