What on earth is wrong with their website? It won't accept a phone number no matter how I try and enter it. Given up trying to order.
How good is the build quality on these? They seem a bit pricey considering they are refurbs. I am looking for a laptop for my missus and this looks like a perfect fit, but then noticed it's a refurb and I'm a bit puzzled.

I have 3 Dell refurbs in my household and all came in new condition with no issues.

That sounds promising and all, but will they last like new considering similar new laptops from the competition can often go down to £550-600.

I was wondering if they stand out from other brands like Lenovo or HP which seem to be less pricey but also tend to give up after a year or so.

All 3 get extensive use and are good build quality. The one I'm using now is just under 2 years old and hasn't missed a beat with daily use.

I am very tempted to pull the trigger on this in this case. Thanks for the info. It ticks all the boxes for a 500ish laptop.
Is the i7 worth the price premium? Any idea if 8gb can be upgraded to 16gb, and which brand ram is most suitable to match the existing 8gb inside?

The i7 is about an 8% speed increase.......

The RAM can be easily upgraded with a single 8GB stick. Any decent branded 2666MHz DDR4 Non-ECC should do.

Cheers, and how do these compare to xps 13 in your opinion?

I've no experience of the XPS range, only the 5000 and 7000 series. However, looking at the specs, they seem a little thinner, a little lighter, with a narrower bezel, but a lot more expensive.
