Just had one of these delivered from the outlet for £281...same spec apart from a 320HD...nice laptop and looks as if the batt will last a good few hours, not sure about 8 though.

Ordered 8 days ago and the only one I'm afraid

looks a good price

,ebuyer are doing a acer timeline with very similar spec for £416, that has wireless N and a hdmi socket but a smaller HD and slower memory.

Dell Outlet is a right place right time game.

Been looking for a i5/i3 deal for a good price for the past 4 days, some have just come up but not my thing.

The timeline looks a good deal, but I'm afraid to say it is super ugly!

Call me shallow but these Dells look great. Really great. Not Apple levels of design and build quality, but about the next best thing.

i'd expect a c2d for £400.
plus it annoys me we dont get 14zs they do in america: c2d 4gb 320gb hd slot load dvd 940
0m gfx backlit keyboard for under 500

US advertised prices don't include sales tax, on average nearly 9% according to
]http//ww…om/ and some of the cheap deals only have a 90-day warranty (not sure with Dell, the internet knows more)

Not sure about the processor, but this is a culv model right? (guessing from the SU at the front). Think it's also two cores as well.

Same with this Dell, even if this isn't advertised. All SU line have HDMI and N
Another flaw to Amazon SU4100 is not dual core.
Battery can really do 8 hours.

nice deal, looks pretty good

vitek, the SU4100 is dual core

Intel do not lie about their own products

Im confused, ive got a similar spec medion except mine 1.9GHZ and that was £230. What are you getting for the extra £170? Windows 7 and a brand name?

Can't answer directly but I'd assume size?, weight?, build quality?

I've been after a 13" or 14" light laptop for a while now.

That Acer Timeline from eBuyer is a fab price £415, with a long battery:
]http//ww…274

I plumped for an HP Pavilion DM3 for £409:
]http//ww…8-2

This is also a dual-core (yes, yes, I know, it's an AMD processor, but the benchmark tests show it's actually pretty good), with 2Gb memory, 250Gb hard disc, 13.3" screen, dedicated ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics, 6-cell battery, but no DVD drive.

It's keyboard is very good, the laptop looks more expensive than it is, Aero works faultlessly in Windows 7, but the laptop feels heavier than I was hoping for (1.9Kg)

Having said all that, I am a fan of Dell Laptops (I have a Dell Inspiron at home), and this Dell deal is really really good.

Acer, HP or Dell... we're spoiled for choice !

One other alternative worth mentioning. If you don't mind having a single-core processor, then you can pick up this 14" Acer Timeline for £369.97:
]http//ww…494

The bad news: well, that processor really is half the speed of the others mentioned in this thread, and the supplier, AcerDirect, have dire customer service (from my experience).

Does anyone know if this is capable of playing 1080P movies?

whatever, i don't get why anyone would spend this much on a dell when you could spend >900GBP on a lower specd, inferior OS'd macbook pro.
voted cold.

Build quality, large hard drive, decent amount of RAM, eight hour battery life, Windows 7.. it adds up. And it'll be far lighter than yours too.

Yeah, I can see how this processor is better than a MacBook Pro's one, and the graphics card, and the build quality.. yaawn.

Hi I have seen and about to order this ]http//ww…8-1
For an extras £30 and getting an i3 processor is this not a better deal? Its also on comet for £449 and could be cheaper using 6% off and quidco.

Does this have an HDMI socket?

Similar specs to the popular Asus UL30a which was £350.

I plumped for the Asus, but if I had seen this I would have had abit more of a dilemma.
Slightlty better processer on the dell, bigger hard drive 14" screen (asus has 13") and an optical drive.

So this looks a very very good deal.

I reckon the Asus UL30A is better value for money:
hotukdeals.com/ite…-su

If you require portability then Asus is probably the better bet due to smaller screen and no DVD drive.

Yes:thumbsup:

Im after a 13/14 inch jobbie at the minute

Need a DVD drive though

I have no idea which to get

A mac seems the best, but its a bit more than I want to pay!

Bet it doesn't have a good battery life though. Or is light enough to carry all day.

How many times are people gonna compare 2 completely different types of product?

Everytime a CULV Thin n Lite notebook is posted people always compare it to a 15.6" laptop with twice the bulk, twice the weight and 20% of the battery life? C'mon people they are completely different things.

Whats CULV m8?

Whats CULV m8?

Consumer Ultra Low Voltage, it's intended to sit between standard laptop processors and the Atom processors to give much better performance than the Atom processors but better batterylife than standard laptop processors. The CULV processors use the Core 2 architecture but are aimed at low power with low clock speeds.

John

Reped mate but how do you know this is CULV as it does not say anything in the specs

where from I want one:)

THIS or the asus ul30a, hmm i think i will go for the asus when i sell my nb200

Has anyone ordered this? I can't see any 14z on the Dell UK site, only the US site but it doesn't have a CULV processor there only standard C2D processors.

Edit: Ordered this machine and it's arrived, it's exactly as described - UK spec 14Z with the CULV processor.
