Good price considering the spec on offer here. Granted, no SSD in this, but it does have a dedicated GPU so will be great for certain workloads!

Wut TF is N24T6?
Graphics barely better than on board but overall not bad screens on these tend to be pretty poor
TN or IPS screen?
I bought the i7 version from John Lewis around a year ago now. Absolute git to upgrade as the whole back has to come off to even upgrade the ram or change to an ssd which could even void the warranty if the reports at the time were right.

Agree, plus more power consumption and the overheating problems which leads to throttling of the CPU. There are solutions such as install a optical drive fan. This laptop has another empty m2 slot which you can use for ssd
im eyeing the inspiron 5579 i5 8th gen 256 ssd for £595 with code on dell website with 12 mons 0% interest via paypal credit. but not yet decided no ethernet and the screen based on review is not that great. i have a few days to decide

really bad screens !!! don't buy it. I returned two laptops . nice components but screens are very bad.
I hope to get the i7 version, could anyone explain why there would be overheating problems if discrete graphics is included? Also I thought Dell TN screens were acceptable what exactly is the issuse??
screens are very cheap , after 30 min work eye problem
Got two of these at work for a project. Very flimsy, if you pick up one corner the trackpad doesn’t click due to the flex! But they do their job fine. Would not be my choice.

Probably something wrong with you and not the screen.

when did you ever see a positive dell tn screen review?
almost every thread people complain
you need to check reviews for the specific model you are after

this deal is a bit meh - decent cpu and ram but everything else is lacking so there is no 'must buy' element
i jus
Had endless problems with touchscreen, crackly speakers etc. with similar model. Dell not helpful in or out of warranty. Maybe I was unlucky but I’d be cautious.
Very bad screen and it is broken while opening the laptop and was asked the price of the laptop just to get the screen fixed. Bad service.

don't know much about the radeon 530

I have an NVidia 940m which can game 720p low settings for sure

the radeon 530 is weaker than that

technical.city/en/…530

this isn't a bad deal - but maybe could find something better price/performance ratio (mine was from ebay 2nd hand)
I returned mine because the screen was so bad, now bought an IPS inspiron 7570 and it is SO much better in terns of screen IMHO

The Radeon 530 is barely any faster the integrated UHD 620 GPU, this laptop has a TN panel and no SSD. COLD!
I have to agree the desgin of Dell Inspiron laptops has gone really downhill, I've also had the misfortune to put an SSD in one of these inspirons and it was the worst experience I've had doing this with laptops over the years.

The TN screen is awful too.

My i7 is easy to change the hard drive (4 screws to remove back cover) but to do anything else is a PITA
the dell online documentation tells you how to change the harddrives / ram etc so i would be surprised if this voids the warrenty (but then again the dell warenty is pretty poor & difficult to manage so nothing surprises me with them !)
my post is under review......!
