Dell Inspiron 15-5577 gaming laptop (i7-7700HQ, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD, 1TB HDD, Geforce GTX1050 4GB graphics, 15.6" Full HD screen) - £849 (£749 after cashback) @ Dell

The GTX1050 graphics aren't going to set the world on fire, but overall this looks like a decent games-oriented laptop when you consider the price-point it's pitched at. Of course, if you spend more elsewhere you can get better (even much better) graphics, but probably not for £749...

Spec
- Core i7-7700HQ quad core processor
- 8GB RAM
- 128GB SSD
- 1TB HDD
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics (4GB GDDR5 RAM)
- 15.6" FHD (1920x1080) screen
- Windows 10 Home

List price is £949. However there are two stacking offers which together take £200 off that total:
1) Use code "SAVE100" to bring the price down to £849
2) Claim £100 cashback to bring the effective price down to £749

£100 "SAVE100" discount code expires on November 15. £100 cashback offer expires on November 22.

NOTE: for an extra £150 you can upgrade to 16GB of RAM and a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD instead of the SSD+HDD combo. That's available at the link below:

There have been some very keenly priced specs in this run of Dell Inspiron's. Such a shame about their choices of screens.

I guess if the idea is to plug it into an external monitor much of the time, it's less annoying (only when out of the house). But you're right, it's an unfortunate corner to cut.

I assume this is the TN screen and not the updated IPS version?

According to the page this links to, it's the TN panel. Although the IPS they replaced it with was supposedly rubbish too.

IIt's ok, and about what you'd expect for the price. A class apart from the terrible TN panel, which you wouldn't expect in a laptop for £200.

They seem to have re released the earlier model as an entry level product.

The backlit keyboard is a bit steep.

You can have IPS screen for like 50 pounds if needed. But imho current screen is OK

Heat added! Very good price, actually, as it gives you i7.

I am bought an earlier version, from the beginning of a year, with i5, 1050 4 gig (non-ti), 8 gigs of ram and SSD (so no hdd) for 800 in February. So this is very good deal!

P.s. this machine will give you 60+ fps playing PUBG on 1080p (all very low, but textures and antialiasing medium). Good performance I would say!

Does anyone know if the black friday will make this any cheaper? Don't want to buy it now then find the price has gone down during black friday

What's the difference between this and the dell inspiron 7577

Quite a bit. 7577 has an IPS screen. HDMI 2.0. An extra USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C with support for 40 Gbps Thunderbolt and DisplayPort. Faster wireless adapter. Faster GTX 1050 Ti or GTX 1060 GPU.

Hmm, so it's quite a lot better. Which means it'll be more expensive than this one Huuh I guess i'll have to wait till black friday and hope they sell one for this price.

It's about £150 more expensive after cashback for the 16GB, 128GB SSD, 1TB HDD, GTX 1050 Ti 4GB configuration.

dell.com/en-…702

I presume the cashback is store credit?

wouldn't even dream of spending that on a laptop with a crap screen

If you're used to basic tn panels this won't be much different. If you want an upgrade tho, then this one isn't that good. But hey, they have to cut corners somewhere to get the price down.

they dont really need to cut corners or if they did they could add an upgrade option at cost - decent panels aren't that expensive and would cater to more people

I have the 7567 same specs but with a 1050ti, the tn panel isn't that bad, just be sure to calibrate it in settings for white balance, arrives a tad too warm.

But for now I would recommend holding your cash for an 8th gen machine or waiting for the 7th gen to fall in price
