I recently posted a deal on a Toshiba Qosmio laptop, which plummeted, but I wanted to see how it went before I bought it. Needless to say I was put off by the reception it received and went hunting!

Eventually I found this and I've just ordered one. For the price I was really struggling to find anything which would compare with the behemoth specs this delivers.

Granted it's a lot to spend on a laptop but I hope this can benefit someone else somewhere!

Great price but not sure if saveonlaptops has a good reputation!
Seems good, heat added. Shame the screen is so small. I miss the old days.
Just checked on eBay and the store that had them has ramped prices up since save on laptops upped theirs. This was under £800

Found it but without ssd

Gfx card not stellar at this price tbh.
Not entirely convinced of a 4k screen on a "mid" range laptop, that said, that's a hell of a lot of laptop for the money. Goes for a grand on the dell website and even that's generally considered a good price! Nice find

I got a 1080p version from them a few days ago for 640. Not exactly the same specs but happy with the cost. I do think a 4k screen and this gpu are a bad combo. Bit does seem like a good price
Overpriced considering Dell's appalling build quality...
Expensive.

Ecomputers on Ebay have the same model/spec for £80 less.

They've even had these cheaper previously. 8gb version for abround £700.
I remember buying my Asus G750 Gaming laptop from here in 2014 or 2015 can't remember... I ordered 16gb ram version but they gave me 18gb of Ram instead. so i was not complaining
This or an MSI GP72 Leopard Pro 17.3", 960m 2gb gddr5, 16gb, i7 6700, £799?? And only 1tb hd and dvd.
Is it possible to get a 950m laptop for £700? Excluding ebay

You're paying for that 4k display really.
4k screen an overkill for this GPU.

That's an unusual config, 8+8+2gb? Surprised the laptop even has 3/4 slots
Is that extra 2gb not the VRAM from the GPU?

Yes HP do some for a start a few more about. But you can get a 960m for 739.

Refurb or new. I did spot the refurb models.

Good thing with the dells is easy to upgrade just a bottom panel. No ripping a laptop apart and then arguing warranty.

Very good specs for not a lot of money! Great deal.

You wouldn't have to use it for gaming!
I would get an Asus N552VW for a couple more pounds. FHD screen instead of UHD, but an LG panel instead of a cheap Chinese one. + a dvd drive.

It's got 4 x SODIMM slots, so 18gb is possible in theory, but that amount does sound does very strange....
if the 4k screen is the same as the new xps 15 it will be a beauty

Find any laptop with a better gfx card for this price for me please?

It is not, in fact the screen quality is very much frowned on unless you are lucky and get an LG screen out of them, notebook forums has a large post on this model.

thats a shame as the xps panel is stunning
I'm going on past deals. Ones which you can easily find with the astonishing tool known as the "search" button!

Mines a refurb. I thought since it has the easy access hatch I can upgrade the ram and add the m.2 myself.

Still haven't received it yet as ups messed up so I'm expecting it Monday.

So true, I think the Sharp IZGO panels are superb. I have the XPS 13 and it has an outstanding display, and from what I have read the panel is just as good on the XPS 15. When I first saw this thread my first thought was of the XPS 15, more expensive, but in the same ball park.

Well The laptop can go upto 32gb of ram, But to do that you would need to remove all that backing and possibly void warranty (I've not needed to upgrade it) (I don't think its the GPU, Since I didn't get that good of a processor back then since I don't play high end games. Its like a GTX 750
Have a Dell currently, will be my last due to build quality.
Save your money and go to pc specialist, never looked back since!
GOOD DEAL!!! have purchased from save on laptops before they are good to go. Worth buying if want 4k screen but i have a 1080 version of same machine without 4k and still happy with the laptop :P

This is best for you mate i have the same mlaptop bought it 3 months back for 749 not gone down to this price. Much better then 950m and worth buying

I got the base model on release, worst screen I have ever seen. Had to return it, however Dell refused to provide return address and their courier took 2 months to actually turn up. Therefore 2 months waiting for a refund, the threat of small claims court got them to sort their act out!
960m is ****. will give u 30 fps in latest games
Is the 4K screen worth an extra £150 ?
Just got rid of the only Dell we've owned (N5110), will never get another. Wanted to put an SSD in it, found out that I would have had to strip it down completely! Could only use a genuine charger or it throttled the CPU, wouldn't take Win 10 when my older HP desktop had no problems. Had lots of HPs and never had an issue with them, back to them now

The Inspiron is meant to be easy to upgrade. One screw backplate.
