This is a cracking deal!
I mean, it's alright, but a gaming laptop with a low refresh rate screen and the VR bundle is essentially worthless (sells for £200 on ebay brand new unopened), but the laptops decent for a lot of people i guess and selling the VR headset (if you can) makes it £699 which can't really be argued with, it just annoys me the screen refresh sucks :[

I believe this laptop has a Thunderbolt 3 with 4 PCIe lanes, great if you ever decide to get an eGPU, not bad.
Code doesn't work for me

Says...

Coupon not valid. Think this needs to be expired now
Got one of these at the £699 offer. Nice laptop, very quiet but the screen is a bit naff in all honesty. The whites are very warm (yellow) though you can adjust this in the gfx control panel. RGB values seem quite inaccurate and the viewing angles ok-ish. For an IPS screen, its pretty poor.
Heat added. Wish I can buy it. The code still works.. T. T... sale Post-Christmas make my heart ache.. XD..

Just go through the order process and add to basket - The discount appears on the final confirmation page.
Thanks OP - This is a great deal. I've been toying with the idea of one of these as a sort of portable gaming PC, which would make more sense than building a small and quiet desktop.

Had the previous version briefly, but the 1050 didn't cut it.

I had the same issue with the colours in particular. I ended up using this website as one of my ways of adjusting the colour so it was right. Looks a lot better now. The screen is the only thing I would say is the "bad" part of this which I personally can live with now the colour is right but I can see why lots can't
So tempted but all the comments about the screen put me off
If the code works this is extremely hot! The price for the laptop alone would be scorching.

FTFY
Well, it definitely worked for me. Mine arrives next Tuesday! Unsure if I'll keep the headset or sell it to reduce the cost, but time to sell my Asus ROG 17 inch

At this price you will struggle to find a machine with the same specs. When I was looking around almost all of them were 1050 cards not 1060 and if they were 1060 then the rest of the specs weren't great. I personally love the laptop despite the screen because for me it is "good enough".
Thanks, Heat + ordered. I have been holding off on buying a nice laptop for some time, my current laptop is over 10yrs old (sony vaio, 1080p, i5, 8gb, 128gb ssd) although I generally use a desktop. I almost bit on the HP omen from JL last week but this would seem a better deal (perhaps aside from the screen).
Brilliant thanks op

Beggars can't be choosers. The price was scorching.
I bought it 10 days ago for £1099... I've contacted Dell, but they won't honour the new price, so I'm returning my current one. Will re-order with this new price.

Code works fine as of 2 seconds ago, I did switch off adblocker just in case
NB After adding to basket, the box for the code is right at the bottom of the page

It's one of the optional extras after you go through the process of buying it. It says £430 (or whatever) but adding it to the basket doesn't increase the price
Heat from me, and it's VERY rare I give heat to gaming laptop deals.
Great spec. Guessing as 15" the 1060 is max-q and the screen isnt 120hz but still a very good deal if the money off works with RAM and SSD prices right now.

I prefer the JL deal for the non max q gpu, 7200 rpm hdd and 120hz screen plus 17" size and Omen looks overall but if the code works this is a very viable alternative for those looking for something smaller (the JL was 999 plus you spend about 150-200) on the ssd and ram.)

I did read Dell sometimes cripple the thunderbolt bandwidth which is worth bearing in mind if intending to use EGPU later.

Correct, this is a Max-Q 1060.
Ordered, thanks OP. Would have been a very decent deal for just the laptop but the free VR swung it for me.
Ive also rated as hot. The JL deal has expired and this is probably the best deal right now. 2 great deals inside 2 weeks. Who would have thought.

I have to admit I really like the looks of the Omen however.

Gen 8 Intel chips arent looking great for gamers. They do have an extra 2 cores but to combat heat and power the clock speeds are all substantially lower which will hurt a lot of games. If theyd kept the core...

Lets just say I dont expect them to set the world on fire.

When did you get that? Was it posted on HUKD by any chance?
One other difference I noted is, admittedly the Dell warranty includes onsite warranty but an upgrade to 3 years costs around £140. Its 48 right now for the HP Omen so that also negates the cost differential.

What utter rubbush, show me a link where it has sold for anything like £200 unopened. I can't find the refresh rate. But 60 is pretty standard for an IPS montor. the 120 refresh rates are normally for TN monitors where you trade gsync for display quality and battery life.

Would love to know where you seen this about dell "cripple the thunderbolt bandwidth" as i wanted it for eGPU down the line also!!! This would be big no no for me then if true? thanks

£206, £185, £200, £200 - some on there for £250 buy now also, next time think about what you're writing before you do pls. whether you think 60 is standard or not, it is still a low refresh rate, lol.
Just tried the code again on my phone and it worked fine.
