I'm curious why this is going cold at £899 with the Ti version of the 1050GTX?

I've been looking at this for a few days, not really a gamer though so hoping that one of the Inspirons with the new 8th Gen I7 would come in at a good price. the save100 code doesn't seem to work on those though. Does anyone know if the IPS screens on this gaming model are any good?

If you look through my other recent deals, there are plenty for discounted Dell Inspirons with the new i7-8550U processor, all either £100 or £200 off.

I know, I was looking at the £999 one down to £799 but the SAVE100 code isn't working for it, so only comes to the same price as this gaming model.

Yup I've seen the Inspiron 15 with i5 8250u for £599 previously which is an extraordinarily good deal.

I went for the MSI laptop at ebuyer.com in the end £599 for the HQ CPU instead of stupid U and it's for the kids the MX150 graphics plus ordered a cheap M2 drive to go with the 1TB mech drive,i thought that was a pretty good deal.

If it still says the SAVE100 code is applicable on the overview of all available configurations, I'd get onto Dell's chat team. From recent experience (just advised my sister with a purchase) they're very helpful.

Not sure why you're referring to the "U" processors as "stupid"? That may well have been true until the latest generation, but the i5-8250U and i7-8550U are proper 4 core, 8 thread processors, just in a much lower TDP envelope. Indeed, the reviews are calling them Intel's biggest leap in performance for years and years.

Just bought from Dell Outlet, refurb Inspiron 7567 using 15% student discount came to £835.00

i7 7700HQ
1050Ti 4GB
16GB DDR4
512GB M.2 nvme
4K IPS Screen

Its very easy to get an NUS card for £12.00 and then a simple scan and email gets you 15% off at Dell Outlet.

I agree they are good processors, but there is issues with them from what I have read, the single core performance cannot maintain the higher clock speeds without decent cooling, which isn't going to be there in the intended ultrabooks they are used for, as such you end up with lower clockspeeds.. this isn't an issue for most applications, but it is for gaming, Windows will make use of multiple cores and Windows multitasking etc will run flawlessly, but gaming is heavily reliant on single core speeds, so they arent great for gaming, the HQ chips are much better choice, even 7th gen U chips are better for gaming.

That's an amazing price, well done! Are you sure it's the Ti version, though? Looking at the Outlet one that's £983.09 (i.e. £835 after the student discount) it just says "1050GTX".

Yeah i thought it was too, but speaking to live chat apparently the 4K model only comes with the Ti its just the description that doesnt say Ti.. if its not I can return, but its for my mrs, she uses a lot of design programs, so wont really be used for gaming at all, so 1050 or Ti is a non issue in that sense.

I'm just curious, how do I get the 15% student discount? I asked one of their representatives and they said on purchases of £600-1100 I only get a 5% discount as a student?

They send you a code you apply at the checkout.

Cut the specs in half, put an Apple logo on it and all the fanboys would up-vote this.
Heat from me.

Hi

I sent one back from the outlet as it didn't have a backlit keyboard (as advertised). It had a 4k screen and a non-ti 1050. They do exist, but sounds like it isn't an issue, as it want for me.
