I'm curious why this is going cold at £899 with the Ti version of the 1050GTX?

I've been looking at this for a few days, not really a gamer though so hoping that one of the Inspirons with the new 8th Gen I7 would come in at a good price. the save100 code doesn't seem to work on those though. Does anyone know if the IPS screens on this gaming model are any good?

If you look through my other recent deals, there are plenty for discounted Dell Inspirons with the new i7-8550U processor, all either £100 or £200 off.

I know, I was looking at the £999 one down to £799 but the SAVE100 code isn't working for it, so only comes to the same price as this gaming model.
Yup I've seen the Inspiron 15 with i5 8250u for £599 previously which is an extraordinarily good deal.

I went for the MSI laptop at ebuyer.com in the end £599 for the HQ CPU instead of stupid U and it's for the kids the MX150 graphics plus ordered a cheap M2 drive to go with the 1TB mech drive,i thought that was a pretty good deal.

If it still says the SAVE100 code is applicable on the overview of all available configurations, I'd get onto Dell's chat team. From recent experience (just advised my sister with a purchase) they're very helpful.

Not sure why you're referring to the "U" processors as "stupid"? That may well have been true until the latest generation, but the i5-8250U and i7-8550U are proper 4 core, 8 thread processors, just in a much lower TDP envelope. Indeed, the reviews are calling them Intel's biggest leap in performance for years and years.

That's an amazing price, well done! Are you sure it's the Ti version, though? Looking at the Outlet one that's £983.09 (i.e. £835 after the student discount) it just says "1050GTX".

Always nice when a description error works in your favour...

I'm just curious, how do I get the 15% student discount? I asked one of their representatives and they said on purchases of £600-1100 I only get a 5% discount as a student?

http://www.dell.com/learn/uk/en/ukdfh1/campaigns/dell-outlet-exclusive-offers-uk?c=uk&l=en&s=dfhIts only on Dell Outlet.. make sure your on the UK site..

Do you get them to send you a voucher code for the discount? Or do you buy it first and then talk to them about the discount? Thanks
Cut the specs in half, put an Apple logo on it and all the fanboys would up-vote this.
    Heat from me.

    Hi

I sent one back from the outlet as it didn't have a backlit keyboard (as advertised). It had a 4k screen and a non-ti 1050. They do exist, but sounds like it isn't an issue, as it want for me.
