That's because other people voted it hot whilst you voted it cold.

When you close your eyes, we still exist.

There is an option for the 17" screen version for the same price and 1600x900 resolution - better purchase
Inspition 17 5749 (page 2) or select Inspirion 17 5749 in left menu
outlet.euro.dell.com/Onl…220

Add £22 delivery charges as well.

I would jump all over this if there was a 1920x1080 option at this price

No, It will be the Intel 5500HD (standard Graphics with an Intel 5500u).
videocardbenchmark.net/gpu…500

Idea of games performance - pretty basic, but playable on low settings on newer games (example BF4 Hardline)

EDIT:
There may be models of Inspirion 5749 with dedicated graphics - this review states Nvidia 840M

Inspirion 5548 may come with Radeon R7 M270

You are not the only person voting! Surely you could work that out in the time you took to type this...no...
p.s. you are right, should make you give a reason for the cold vote.

I'm not sure if these are upgrades or are default with these machines. The other model in the outlet with the I5-5200 actually states 2GB Graphics 840M (if you click on Inspirion 17 5749 on left, you will see 3 models come up)

For anyone not looking to game, this is probably the best sub £400 laptop I've seen in a while, have some heat!

Poor screen

true...

Regular laptop with slightly faster dual core i7 and people think it's a deal refurbished at this price!
It just proves the power of marketing and brand names. Too many naive people here.

That may not be considered as accidental damage, so an insurance claim will be unlikely.

Too much for a refurb.

Unfortunately so true. All these 'deals' with

either gimped processors (various types) with top tier branding

laptops and even desktops now containing dedicated gpu which is weaker than integrated

Please feel free to continue this list.

I'm wary if Dell, they gave lost a lot of traction and are attempting to regain their dominance, not sure what cuts they are making and how quality is affected

Even if it did have a dedicated gfx card. It would be rubbish. I have an i7 Inspiron 7520 and there are threads of everyone complaining on dell forums that the gfx card does not get used. Dell never bothered to fix it. I won't by another Dell if I want gaming.

It seems to be a refurb, should be mentioned in the title to be fair

Is there an alternative that you could suggest?

"High end machine"

It's a good deal but this machine isn't close to being high end. Ultrabook i7 processor (i.e. weaker than the full versions), poor resolution screen, slow mechanical harddrive, no GPU.

There used to be a time when Dell was a thriving company and produced good value laptops.

The XPS13 is superb, but the rest of the Dell stuff now seems to be seriously overpriced averageness.

That said, if you can live with low res screen, brick like weight, and old fashioned design, there's a refurb Inspiron 17 i5-U with 840m for £358 + £20 del.

I ordered a 2015 XPS 13 a couple of days for a mere £574.80 delivered from the Outlet. It truly is their only laptop worth speaking about.

All that amazing spec and then they spoil it with a 1366 x 768 screen! What a waste!

In-sp-iron = In-iron-bin
These laptops will be useless in less than one year. Hate them

1366 x 768, Hot from me, I'm old and can't see 1920x1080
