Are the VIP codes per user or a specific code?
No optical drive is a bit of a bummer...
Cold, it doesn't run the latest games in 4k and OMG no USB 3.0? Rubbish, can get much better for 6 times the price!

I have this laptop, bought for £180 about 3 weeks ago for university work (primarily surfing the internet, running word and excel) and it runs like a dream - have even used AutoCAD and streamed Netflix in HD on it, HOT!
    Ew, Celeron.

    ditto
Anyone putting this machine down at this price is a complete freaking moron.
There is a severe amount of value here, mostly due to Microsoft letting OEM's have windows for free if they include bing (which can easily be removed if you prefer something else).
If all you need to do is browse the internet or word-process you cant go wrong.
If you want an extra speed bump just swap out the hard drive for an ssd.

I don't run the VIP club
The last time this laptop was reduced, they were very slow at creating the VIP codes to the point that the price went back up before the codes were issued.
Some might call that a coincidence (_;)

I agree, stop whinging about it. It's a bargain!
This is a fantastic deal. Remember to sign up to VIP to get an extra 10% off.

Rein, do you know if there are any secrets to getting this code? I have signed up but not received any email

    Thanks x
I am looking at some on dell around the £4/500 mark and the VIP code makes a big difference , have tried twice but no code , not moaning (much) just saying

BTW .... LOGiCALX care to PM me one of those codes, or anyone else not using theirs
Just spent £100 to upgrade my 6 years old laptop. CPU from core 2 duo T5750 to T8300, memory from 2GB to 4GB, and swapped hard drive to 256GB SSD. Now the laptop is so much faster. Point is: cheaper to buy used components and upgrade your old laptop than buying this low end ****, which you'll need to upgrade sooner or later (look at the hardware! 'single channel memory' means you have to upgrade to dual channel unless you're stupid.)
I'm looking to get something like this for my 13 year old. He's into all kinds of game playing. Will this be any good and what is so wrong with Celeron processor?? What would anyone suggest for a decent processor on a budget?
Is it just me or does the Dell site display this as 'Touch enabled'?
Although no reference to it within specs ...

Odd the specs dont mention a built in coffee maker.

You've sold it to me on that basis alone
Tried again but no joy on the VIP 10% code, fancied using it on another Dell, not that I'm knocking this one, for what it does its good vfm imo ...and voted hot accordingly

Also tried to register but no joy - if anyone can PM me a code so I can order one for my mum, it'd be much appreciated!
