My brother is using it and it's very fast once you get used to windows 8, seems a brilliant laptop!

Seems a reasonable price, but I managed to pick up one of these with a 1tb hard drive for 350 in January.

Good deal

When you say "brand new i5 processor" referring to 3rd gen, rather than 4th gen, it's rather misleading.

Sorry I meant brand new laptop as opposed to refurbished I'll change that haha, I actually thought it was the newest i5 as it says new on dells website but i don't know that much about these things haha

You can buy these on eBay (Dell refurbs) with a Radeon HD 8730M and 1TB HDD for the same price as this. Another option if you want to play games at a higher level than Intel HD 4000 graphics.

I know dedicated graphics are far superior, but is intel 400 that bad? Does it use up a lot of ram? Would it be very apparent? Or only for gaming? Sorry for all the questions

The Radeon is only useful for gaming or certain multimedia applications that can use discrete GPUs; photo & video editing/encoding etc.

If u had an i7 and 8g ram with intel 400 would this still make these possible? But just not as good as dedicated. I have the aforementioned but I'm holding off using it as I'm thinking maybe full hd and dedicated graphics is something I should include in a laptop

It really depends on what software you use and also what features you use as typically only a small subset of functions benefit from using a GPU. So there's no easy answer but requires proper research. Note that not all mobile i7 CPUs are quad core and the dual core i7 CPUs are generally poor value so best avoided.
