This is really worth it. I got the same system a month ago for £387.00 delivered. (but I got a free printer which I sold on ebay for £41.00!)
I recommend you get the version without vista. Its taking some getting used to!!
If you ring them to order you can request windows XP instead.

I have ordered this with battery / screen upgrade

Link not working for me
Do you know the e-value code?

And I have just ordered with HD and Battery upgrade, plus an all in one printer, and Vista Home Premium (the latter you have to phone up to order - but only £24 - and it basically gives the Media Centre stuff to Home Basic). Total £550 (but no quidco )

Or you can also call and get XP home (for no price change), which I toyed with. But I realise I have a spare original XP home from an old PC I could use if I really hate Vista...

Or even have fun with a dual boot.

Link is fine for me, but here it is below in plain

configure.euro.dell.com/del…dhs

The offer is for the N05152, if you try to phone up.
If you try to navigate via dell's website, you don't appear to be able to see this 'flavour' of Inspiron 1501. It only gives you N05155 and upwards

Still not back down to the £327 delivered of two weeks ago.

Nice price but I’m wary of low end Dells as the screens can be very bad. Remember that to get this price you need to reduce the warranty to 90 days collect and return.
A cheaply manufactured product with a short warranty is a bit of a risk though, especially for a laptop which is transportable and can be horribly expensive to repair.
i.e. this deal has strings attached.

Although it should be noted that Dell cannot enforce the "only" 90 days warranty...

Sorry but you are wrong on both counts. The screens on the 1501 are very good...I have one at work, and two in my household. The Dell 90 day warranty refers to carriage only, ie all new items have 12 months warranty, but the 90 days refers to the period that Dell collect and return the laptop at their expense. After this the cost of carraige is not covered but repairs are.
