Thanks Mike  looks good!

Cheers Mike.

Don't forget folks, upgrade to the 6-cell battery for £0.00!

Not bad for an entry level laptop. Beats similar priced intel ceron based models.

Sorry if this is a daft question but would this be suitable for a bit of basic word processing and internet use? I am looking for a laptop for my mum and it just needs to be basic

Thanks

Yes it would be more than suitable.

Perhaps i might not be thinkin straight here but if i had to choose between a dell inspirion and an emma lapdance model i think i may end up out of pocket either way.....]http//ww…489

Is it worth adding another 512Meg RAM? If yes, where's the best place to get it from.

This isn't dual core is it?

would it be worth the upgrade from my mobile sempron 3000?

Dell is a rip-off. You can get same price and better spec from compaq, hp etc...
Maybe better off buying a mac than a dell.

You can buy them from www.MemoryC.com and most place on the internet. Even ebay. Just do a model search on the laptop first or find out if it can take any more ram.

So go on then, show us where you can get a better spec'd compaq or mac for the same money?

the 1501 has two memory slots and from memory (no pun intended!) it can take up to 2gb. this one comes with 1 x 512 which means its easy to upgrade to 1 gb. dell used to stick in 2 x 256 cards which meant you had to ditch them and buy 2 x 512s to go to a gig.
