I can vouch for that. I recieved an Inspiron 7577 last week that was supposedly scratch/dent and it's flawless.
Stay away from the mobile A-series apu's. They are terrible. This one for example is not even as fast as an i3-6100u.
Says sold out.....

It’s £284 though, with 8GB of RAM, FHD and dedicated graphics. Stick in an SSD for £45~ and it will be flawless, pertect for productivity and some light gaming.
Title should say it's refurbished.

Actually really really good. I paid £322 for this just last week for the 8gb version. it looks absolutely new.

The only clue that it was not is that the rubber feet have very light wear and there are very feint markings on the lid only noticeable when holding the top of the lid at an angle towards a bright light.

It is a good saving on the price of a similar spec.ed laptop.

I wouldn't pay £500 for this spec but below £300 or even £350 this cannot be matched. I probably will be replacing the hard drive with a spare SSD I have, It is an AMD A10 processor with a graphics card which makes it better than a budget Intel laptop. The only downside is the battery life. You will only get 3 hours max with this. But this is to use as a desktop replacement - not as a agile laptop. Its quite heavy anyway so not good to carry around regularly.

I think its swings and roundabouts.

I bought the Dell as a second laptop for someone who already has the Lenovo 320.

If the Lenovo had the same spec it, for me it is the better laptop

However you really need 8gb ram nowadays. The hard drive is not an issue 1tb or small SSD? I would go for the 1 tb as I can replace the SSD if I need to easily and use the 1tb as an external backup.

so comparing both offers as is, the Dell is the better offer.

The issues you want to consider are

battery life - Lenovo is much better.
Weight, the Lenovo wins again. Lenovo = all plastic: Dell = metal chasis
Light gaming and media - Dell
basic cpu tasks - Lenovo
Ram - Dell 8gb vs Lenovo 4gb
Hard drive - for light use the Lenovo - for large amounts of data Dell
Screen: Lenovo = glossy - reflective screen Dell: = Matt, non-reflective but "duller"

No its not terrible. Factor in the graphics card and overall it is better than an I3.

I have both so can make a direct comparison. I have installed the same software on both. The processor is terrible on battery life - but this will be connected to a power point .

Factor in the price and this is quite a bargain.

This is a tn screen the lenovo is ips that would be the deal breaker for me. Another annoyance is only single ram slot on lenovo=no dual channel memory and significant reduction in graphics performance

33168720-OOtJX.jpgIs this Dell a decent deal? Bought it last week but unsure whether to cancel or not.

Thanks

Sub £300 it's a winner.
*very* light gaming. I have the A10 with the R6 gpu and it'll run older games like skyrim (and Skyrim:SE), AC:Black Flag, but struggles with a modded Minecraft. Can run Overwatch on ugly settings. Just.
Good value laptop for any non-gaming purposes though, being under £300.
And yeah, swap in an SSD is a smart move.

to me that is a great deal 16 gb ram, 256 gb ssd, i7 processor 3.5 ghz. The weak link is the graphics card its only suitable for light gaming . As a general purpose laptop you have everything you need at a price it would be a challenge to match.

For less than £100 more than I paid for the same chasis, you are getting a lot better specification.
