Curry's pioneered mixed reality. They've represented Hell on Earth for years.

VR with crappy 1050 won't run smoothly, you need at least 1060, it's COLD from me.

Currys, no thanks, just kidding....

I'm not a geek but would this be on power way the Xbox x?

Awful company wouldn’t buy if they were only charging £50 for this

Bit like secondhand PCs for sale with GTX960 cards in them......pointless to invest that far without getting at least a 970, 960s will be worthless as upgrades.

asif!

1,440x1,440 for each eye. How is the 1050 meant to achieve that. They are using the term gaming very lossly.

Edit: interesting this just scrapes into the 'Ultra' category for Windows mixed reality pcs.

Didn't HP have something similarly specced via unidays for £550?

Btter to get xbox one x rather than getting 1050, for VR consider at least 1060 for it to be o.k.

They sure did and HP's specs were much better than this.

Thanks, I thought so. Goes to show how much £££ there is in these and £850 is poor value.

This deal was £730 over Black Friday when i picked it up, have been playing about with the laptop, you also get an intel software pack with it including Dirt 4. it runs most stuff on high settings at 60fps, considering the headset alone is £400 this is a cracking deal in my book. The gtx is the 4gb version too not the standard 2gb one.

despite people wanting their cake and eat it, in reality the words laptop and gaming don't go together and it will always be a big compromise no matter what spec you buy and how much you fork out.

They are being pushed to breaking point to game at any level desktop users would find satisfactory. Its easy to fix and update desktops when things go wrong/tech outdated, laptops become expensive doorstops very quickly.

Nice to see comments from people writing it off. for 1080p gaming this is more than fine and will run most games on high,I compared dirt 4 on the PS4 pro to this and it ran better than the PS4 version at a solid 60fps but yeah it can’t run anything can it. Likewise H1Z1 runs at 60fps on high as dose pubg with a bit of tweaking.

Yes, I also bought this on black Friday for £730 and this laptop is really good, it can run pretty much any game with the 4gb 1050 and the quad i5 processor is very quick. It did come with the mixed reality headset in a gigantic box which I will test when I can be bothered (stuffed it under the bed for now, I was more interested in the laptop and its great price).

Nowadays, that's a load of crap. The NV GTX line is basically the same as the desktop line but slightly downclocked.
You pay out the bum for them, but you can get a GTX1080 with 2560 cores in a laptop. The desktop GTX1080 is also 2560 cores. 8.3 TFlops vs 7.9 Tflops.

Entirely possible to get a high performing laptop in 2017 for gaming. It will be heavy and have poor gaming battery life, but if you value the portability it offers then it offers the performance. That's always going to be a compromise with wanting a high performance laptop for anything though. There is no real outright performance compromise vs a desktop though.

Or you can even get SLI 1080's in your laptop. Which will beat 99.9% of desktop PCs at gaming.

And since the rate of advancement in GPUs (and CPUs) has slowed, they don't become obsolete as quickly either.

Good deal but I went for this MSI-GV72 which also has the GTX1050 but the i7 prossesor with vr £710 on Amazon, not sure how the vr will perform with these specs but I won’t comment until I’ve tried and tested. Link to deal still on, discount applies at checkout Amazon deal if not like me phone Amazon they will honour it.

I quess I'm imagining playing super hot all eve on this with no issues then oh well

the controllers are bloody brilliant, massively more responsive than psvr and pretty similar to the vives. I don't think the guy above has really played on one of these a lot of site are comparing them to the vive resolution wise, this headset is far more comftable too as its a lot more light weight and doesn't rest on your nose.

ive played on a htc vive own a psvr and now a windows mixed reality and there all pretty good the main issues this headset had when it came out was lack of software but it has steam vr support now so that's not an issue anymore.

I'm super happy with my purchase and that's what its all about.

Just to clarify, you can play games like Elite Dangerous or Digital Combat Simulator World with no lags on 1050 & VR... good for you

I'm not sure how mixed reality compares with virtual reality, but I've got a Dell gaming laptop with identical specs and the Geforce Experience app says it is does not meet the recommended spec for VR gaming.

Mixed reality doesn't seem to require such high specs and its done pretty awesome with everything I've thrown at, if you download the mixed realit checker app form the Microsoft store and run it it will say your meet the requirements with high settings on this spec. I Put a few more VR bits on last night the Lab on steam VR and job simulator all worked flawlessly.
