While I understand this will not get raving reviews or get very hot, for the money, this is the cheapest ATI 5650 enabled machine which will play most modern games well, it also has a strong i3-370 processor which in my opinion will be as good as the entry level i5 laptop CPU.

Another plus point on this computer is the speakers are half decent, which can not be said for most laptops these days.

4GB RAM and a nice 500GB hard disk drive, available in John Lewis at the moment at £629 in red or black.

For those who need the graphics, this is the one.

If you vote cold, please tell me where you can get a cheaper machine that is as good or better than this so I can buy it.

Also, this is cheaper at Dell, but you are looking at 2 weeks + to get hold of one, this one is available now.

Can someone offer a reason to all the cold votes?

Cold. £579 direct from Dell. Nothing to say that it will be 2 weeks plus for delivery. In my experience it is less than a week for delivery and that was for spec'd to order ones. In stock ones just a couple of days.

Hmm when I checked with them it was over two week

Considering the refreshed line up is due in on the 1st of Feb, I'm waiting till then. Also other than the Hdd the XPS 15 seems an altogether better deal, similar level graphics, 1 gig less ram but also comes in at £579 so a good saving overall and the XPS looks better if you ask me.

That is the lower spec 330 rather than the posted 370 plus it is a lower spec graphics card.

Smaller hard drive and slower processor - Does however have a 17" hi res screen (if you'd prefer a bigger screen) and is alot cheaper (if you can get the £100 cashback easily) Oh and come with windows 7 professional 64 bit.

Nice machine, sadly too big for what I want, good price tho. Should chuck it up here as a deal/

It or a similar one was posted a few weeks from the website. Yeah its pretty fine - wish I could justify it

If anyone is interested, just got the dell machine. Very very quick and quicker than an i5 Vaio I had a week or so ago, just gonna test out the graphics on it. Sadly the build quality is not up to Vaio standards and the touchpad and keyboard are a bit crud.
