should be able to change it, it might help get more heat. If you cant do it manually report the thread and the mod could do it

It doesnt let me change it, even If I try post a new one, it selects Outlet every time.

I dont know how to report it to the moderators, there doesnt seem to be a link

Also, 6% off quidco (excl del and VAT) = ~£21 saving, taking it down to £408 delivered! Can anyone else beat this lappy deal? Not seen a lappy with HDMI out at this price! Also, 6% is valid until Sunday on Quidco

Seriously tempted......

Does it matter? Will you be collecting

It does, I have got an Inspiron 1545 made in china which is utter trash thus would not buy anything similar.Older Irish,Czech or Polish dells I had my hands on used to be much better made. That's the reason behind my question

Chinese, Polish or whatever, I finally went for it! Thanks OP, been looking for ages.

7777777, modern day manufacturing techniques together with global QA/QC procedures should mean that there would be no difference in build quality - apart from initial production runs. If you can point out the differences, I am sure Dell and other manufacturers would be very willing to listen.

NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO i just paid £477 for this in ice blue!!!! bastads dropped it by 20 quid!

I know what do you mean.
However, having got poorly made chinese '1545 ' would suggests that dell's quality control in that country curently suffers ... or inspiron mean *****.

Ordered for my mother. Fantastic value with HDMI and a 17" screen and blistering performance. Battery life not an issue in this case, so overall its a winner.

Does seem to indicate it has both HDMI and VGA ( www1.euro.dell.com/uk/…hs1 )

these look quite nice, but 17" is too big for my needs.

Am wondering if I should have gone for the 15" studio now or stuck with the inspiron.

I'm considering between this and the Acer on play: hotukdeals.com/ite…2bn. The Acer has 1 more GB mem, Blu-Ray player, better card reader, seperate graphics card. To be honest though, I ain't gonna be playing games on it, and neither watching films on my lap. Difficult desicion still.

How much ram has the graphic card got?
Is it dedicated or integrated?

I think all i3 laptops have the built in gma graphics, its actualy built into the i3 cpu, best intergrated graphics you can get at the moment, replaces the X4500HD

just if it had a bluray reader:( Pretty decent deal tho.

Is it worth adding the "premium package" upgrade for an extra £100 to make it £529?

4GB RAM: Work on more, larger files simoultaneously
• 500GB HD: More space to store and share your media!
• 512 MB graphics card: adds details and smoothness to your videos and games!

Newbie from the states.. buying in the UK for my daughter & no idea what Quido is.. But VERY interested in taking off another 6%. How does that work?

Sorry, couldn't resist

I can report this is a fantastic laptop. The screen is a good size (although I dont like the reflective coating) and the keyboard is a real dream to type on (a surprise considering its a laptop).
Stick a cordless mouse on this and its a perfect workhorse. 10/10 so far.
