Upgrades: Logitech EX110 wireless key/mouse £9.39
320Gb hard drive £23.50
24" TFT monitor just £356 (usual price today £522)
2 graphics upgrades available.

Looks a very nice deal, especially with the graphics card upgraded.

Thanks Mike .
Just what I want for my grandchildren .

btw Mike, does the Logitech EX110 wireless keyboard include a mouse ?
It doesn't actually say.

Thanks.
Paul.

Yes it does, its a logitech cordless desktop, ie mouse and keyboard. You have to deselect the dell mouse btw.

Thanks for the heads up Mike - I'll try to go compare as I'm not really "up on" current CPU comparrisons but how does this AMD come up against the Core 2 Due E4400/E6400 on some of the previous deals.

Best Rgds

This cpu is weak compared to the E4400, you would need to go for Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ to get closer to the Intel.

You could look at this one if your an Intel person hotukdeals.com/for…951

Upgrading it to E4400, 2gig, vista Premium and 19 card reader comes to just under £300.
You have do make a choice just how much money you want to spend really ;-)

Just spotted this on another site ?????? and the upgrade to a 24" UltraSharp Monitor is now only an additional £180.66

Mike had removed the original monitor for this price so it's still £356 for the monitor on top of the £252:)

I got you ! Thx !!

One thing to remember with adding the 24" TFT to this deal, the monitor takes its warranty from the base warranty so if you have just 1yr, then thats the warranty on the TFT too.

how do you get at the price

Vista is getting alot of flak of late would it be better to install windows xp when this came

Take the monitor off.

How many disks can this thing hold? I have three 500GB's that i would like to transfer across to this thing, but it doesn't look like it can take it - can anyone confirm? (i'd want the OS on the original 160GB disk - so that would make four disks total)

Can anyone confirm if the 256MB NVIIDA® GeForce® 8300GS Turbocache graphics card [add £35.25] comes with a VGA or DVI connector or both ?

I need VGA !!

It has 1 of each, if you want to see what each card has just click]http://i.dell.com/images/global/brand/icons/help.gif]Help me choose when at the graphics selection part of building your dell and it will answer your questions.

hey mike, i have £500 for a mate to get a pc with a monitor and was just wondering if i upgrade this system components or is there a better deal i can get with another ecode?

I can't believe they charge you £94 for a 8600GT, which can be bought off amazon for £47!

So with this being a 531, is it the mini one??

I bought a 531 with the last deal and i'm really impressed with it. One slight niggle is that I did a clean install of vista and found I didn't have all the drivers from dell. Had to fish about for the 8300GS driver.

I still don;t have the driver for the media card reader that adds names to the drives (eg Card Reader, CF Card Reader etc). Anyone got one?

In your opinion guys/girls, what would this be like for using as a Photoshop/Music Editing machine?

Should be fine. I'm running a 5600 X2 with a 8300GS Geforce in a Dell 531 and it's zooming along on Photoshop. I think integrated sound is generally very good now although it may sap the system memory.

What do people think of these new dells?

I bought the 530 model.Have to say the build quality is nowhere as good as the 5100/5150/E520 range.I also found it lot more noisey, what with the 80cm fans.(case fan and cpu fan)The PSU seems more noisey too!

Even the hardrive makes more noise, with it missing the hard drive enclosure of the previous models...

So anyone bought one these and made it quieter?.Swapping the fans for nexus etc,or changing the cpu fan.Maybe controlling the cpu fan via software?

Thanks

Do you know whether it would it allow me to switch either of the graphics or sound card should I wish to?

Gawd I used to be quite upto speed on PC's and such!

Pretty decent.

Is it wireless enabled.

Dell desktops dont generally come with a wireless card, its cheaper and easier to just use a USB dongle if you need wifi on it, saves a slot too.

Where have all the "Good" dell deals gone the ones in the last month or so have just been average.

Come on Dell!!! I really want a C2D 2.33 with 2gb Ram 320gb for less than £250 please grant my wish! (come on Mike make it happen lol)

Yep Mike, apart from a mod your now a magician lol

Yes if it's a PCI card

2 spare pci slots in the 531.
