Nifty
I've been looking at laptops and this seems to tick the boxes. I5/Ryzen5 or better. 8gb or better. 256gb or better (preferably 512). Full HD screen. Back-lit keyboard. For around the £500 mark
The reviews aren't great though, just 3 out of 5 stars?

This is probably the most useful video review I've seen for this model (albeit with the faster 4700u processor)

Avoid dell laptops they are way behind in the thermals and build quality department. Good spec for the price though

I don’t think this will have any thermal problems as it is a very low TDP cpu and no dGPU.
Poor screen (220 nits) and backlit keyboard means you need to be able to touch type of you're using it in low light as the letters blend in with the silver keys. Good price though and 12 months interest free through PayPal.

Are Asus Vivobook screens better? Very hard to get exact specs on all these

I recommend lenovo for price and value.
Could someone please point me to the correct 8GB RAM module to buy for this?

Well I ordered this in July when it was due for delivery early September date kept being put back and I was ordering it with another laptop for the Amex £100 credit Seems it would not arrive in time for Amex cut off point so cancelled it....I’d be surprised if it arrived according to their predictions.
I’ve ordered today on the phone. Agent said the 14% discount ends today and won’t be back soon. Let’s see. Late Sept delivery so I can cancel if I find something better in the meantime or they’ll refund me any price drop between now and then.
Pity I couldn’t use the Amex deal, but don’t want to spend £750(650).

Ps. Screen is TN, but a good one they said.

Thanks for all the tips!

I think it’s this

Not sure if people are still following this, but my laptop arrived a bit early which was good, but the touch pad is faulty so I think I’m going to have to send it back for exchange or refund.
It does seem fast though and not too much unwanted software on it.
