I note there is a delivery charge of £60, can this be reduced in any way? This is on top of the charge of £399 for the laptop.
thankyou

No the price includes shipping. £399

Quite a reasonable spec for the price..fine for those that just want a lappy for basic tasks.

Sadly not as good as the recent offer on this model which had a 120gb hard drive and free bag too for £387 delivered.

Is it available with XP Mike?

Yep I agree..Dell seem to be going through a "stingy" period as far as laptop deals are concerned..the best deals at present are on the outlet site or dare I say it Ebay retailers.

Yes, deals are not good as they were giving better ones 3 weeks back. I would expect some weekend offers, or better discounts come next Thu.

Still good deal though

Hmm this was a good deal two years ago.. completely lousy now

That is harsh, but others who are interested should note that the T2060 is effectively a 'celeron duo' (i.e. a core duo T2050 with half of the cache missing/disabled & wrongly marketed as core duo in places). If one was to ring dell & ask how it compares to a T2050, that could be interesting...

just re-configured it with all the upgrades i got a few weeks back (without the bag, smaller processor & Hard drive) and it came to over £1000 whereas I paid £680.

Glad I got one when i did.... :-D

Yeah, I got the 6400 3 weeks ago with 2gb memory, 1.83ghz core 2 duo, 120gb hard drive and 256 ati graphics card for just over £550 when I take into accounts discount and quidco.

First thing I did was install linux and try to get refund for vista, which didn't work out as I would have planned

But still, all that for such a low price makes this deal seem a little luke warm.

Sorry.

is the t5600a goodcpu then

Wikipedia has a list of intel processors, which should help you work out if the processor is a good deal. For the average web browser + office user, anything from core solo up should be fine. Personally I went to the outlet & got a deal & a half - I was keen to avoid Vista (no reason other than resources & compatability), so got a T7200 system for
