Hi I've been looking at deals here the past month or so, as I want to buy a laptop... they are really helpful but I keep putting it off and reckon as I should bite the bullet as there always seems to be something else around the corner!

I want a laptop for general word proc/internet/music use, and I also use photoshop. Would this laptop be good enough for that? would it be better if i got it with xp?

Want it with Genuine Windows XP Professional then click ] Here

CDev, yes suitable for your needs, I have one of these, nice notebooks. Recommend the 9 cell battery upgrade and Xp over Vista too. Battery sticks out the back very slightly with the 9 cell.

The Dell 640M notebook has from today been dropped from the lineup of available laptops from Dell

Possibly by the end of this month and certainly by the end of July I expect there to be a completely new lineup of laptops available in the Inspiron and XPS range.

The XPS1210 is the next for the chop within a few days from now as stocks are exhausted, followed by the 6400.
