Is this laptop so bad? at least there is a better screen with 16GB RAM and a nice SSD hard drive... Anyone had any recent experiences? Or do I wait for a better Black Friday deal ... need a new laptop or a MacBook...

I feel like the 4k screen is unnecessary, since you can't really game (well) in 4k with a 1050 ti.
I think this set is not too bad, the worst of the reviews of the Dell 7657 was the screen not being IPS ... so what other laptop on the some price range would be advice?
If spending that money, I'd be looking at 1060.
“Latest 7th gen” isn’t intel on the 8th gen now
I bought this exact laptop when John Lewis had it for £999 in September. Although I was pretty chuffed at getting that spec for that price, I ended up sending it back as the 4K display just doesn't work that well on a 15" screen. Endless issues with scaling and blurry text both in Windows and in games. If it had a 1080P IPS display, I'd have happily kept it!
TB I think it’s too much money (being north of 1K) for a non-XPS or Alienware machine. I know Inspiron isn’t low-end like it used to be but still...

Just a quick look and this one seems to better overall a better balance overclockers.co.uk/ace…tml. Just search gaming laptops and plenty of sites will pop up.

this one is a bit dearer but still a better laptop laptopsdirect.co.uk/msi…asp
1050ti for 4K screen makes it unusable as a gaming laptop. As a media machine it would be Ok, but who wants a chunky media laptop for £1000+?
1050ti is a bit poor at this price point I feel. Otherwise a nice laptop.

Not really for gaming CPUs, they are coming early next year.

Only for the 15w laptop chips so this is still current for the full fat 35/45w quad cores.
Deal over. Price now £1349.99
