Tiny desktop. Big potential* SAVE £99.99!!! BACK IN STOCK
A full-featured desktop** in an ultra-small design that fits anywhere featuring the latest Intel® processors and Windows 8.1 with Bing******* OS.

Yes it's a weedy Celeron J1800 CPU (sorry, not J1900 as originally posted)
Yes it's a miniscule 32GB SSD
Yes it's a measley 2GB ram
Yes it's terrible Windows 8.1 and no doubt free upgrade to Win 10 which you'll hate as well.
Yes it's probably worse than a PC from 2007
Yes it won't play any game other than solitaire or Pong
Edit: might be upgradable
Remarkably it has 802.11ac + Bluetooth 4.0, Dual Band 2.4 & 5 GHz
Yes your shiney phone is 24million times more powerful
Yes 12 months of Hell and sluggishness courtesy of the included McAfee software preinstalled for your displeasure
It's £99 brand new from Dell, probably their cheapest ever desktop in the history of the universe. Vote cold now or prove me wrong, vote HOT and love this once in a lifetime deal....never to be repeated****

* Big potential subject to expectations.
** Comparison to a fully featured desktop excludes such items as DVD/CD drive, expansion bays, flashing LED fans, cup holder,
**** offer may be repeated numerous times.
******** Bing is the sound this'll make when you kick it out the window after hours of sheer frustration trying to play Call of Duty 3 on it.

Why not add 4 Yr ProSupport and Next Business Day On-Site Service for a paltry £240?

So similiar spec to a chromebook but itll actually DOO something when you plug something into usb port!!

perfectly capable as a htpc, will run steam in home streaming as well. no reason to hate it but can't get either link to work to judge size

Yeah it's probably got some uses if you have realistic expectations

Cheers, I added that to the list of features.

Anyone know what keyboard they are showing next to the unit in the blurb?

The only keyboard I can see is this one (it looks very like the keyboard on my Surface!), can you provide a pic or link?

Keyboard shown on Dell's site is listed as KM636 which is 'coming soon' (on the Accessories and Services tab)

Will this be ok for streaming 1080p video with also another couple of tabs open at the same time?

a J1900 silvermont atom is as good as a mid-range core2duo from yesteryear, so it will run Windows reasonably well as long as you only want to do one or two things at once because it's only got 2GB ram

At least it must be pretty low power I imagine.

Is this fanless? Would it run linux?
If so, it could make a good mini web server if so (giving that I dont need the storage).

My Pi falls a little short re performance.

Has a fan according to:

ah, it looks like the memory is replaceable.. many Atom based systems have it soldered in

The processor looks OK for basic use - it's more than 3 times the speed of the elderly laptop my wife has been using since the XP desktop died. Windows 8.1 is great if you have a touchscreen - if you don't Windows 10 is great.

The 32GB SSD means you won't be storing any files on it - but if you have a decent broadband connection just store them in the cloud. If not get an external HDD or a NAS. My files are already all on a NAS and backed up to Onedrive (for docs) and Google (for music and pics) so it looks like a pretty suitable to me.

EDIT - turns out it's a J1800 which is about equivalent to the Celeron in our old laptop, so not an upgrade.

according to this they can both be changed
atxgeek.me/201…m=1

Not bad system to be honest, with 4gb ram this would be fine for a htpc.

It can fit a standard 2.5" drive aswell

Am I doing this wrong? The site makes mention of the J1800, not the J1900. A couple other websites also cite the processor as the J1800. The J1900 is a 2.4Ghz quad core while the 1800 is a 2.6Ghz dual core (turbo clocks). IMO, that really makes a difference on a Windows platform.

And ssd if you need to

Wow, better than I initially thought, SSD and memory can be upgraded if need be, gotta be worth £99 I'd have thought.
