With the prices of these 10" netbook becoming cheaper and hence hotter deal. Just need to remind yourself that these atom processors have power to do tasks relatively slowly (especially if you are used to 3Ghz CPUs and duo cores)! They are good for portability and small size plus lower power consumption. In terms of practical speed for normal day to day usage like surfing, e-mail an ATOM 1.6Ghz in Windows 7 straight from the manufacturer runs speed-wise like an AMD Duron CPU 1GHz with 768MB memory on XP. For normal usage like surfing, email , skype, MSN, youtube, videos, the 1GB memory is plenty enough. Putting an 1GB memory usually makes little difference in overall real life performance. The ATOM dual core fairs much better but about in par with a 2.2 - 3 Ghz single core processor like the AMD Athlon.

3 cell battery.

The Intel Z520 is very slow - got one of these myself. You can't upgrade from the 1GB of ram either.
