Beware the Lenovo 6-cell battery sticks out the back - bit of a monstrosity!

Asus is a good deal though.

But - I just picked up two Dell Outlet Mini 10v's - same spec as OP one Black - one White - took a chance they are "Scratch&Dent" but both for £318 delivered!

...so it was you ...I got the Z520 CPU for £146

You can pick up this Dell Mini 10 specification with the same choice of colours mentioned for a total price of £248 direct from Dell. Unless I'm mistaken !

Take a look at the 2nd deal down on this page ]here

Not entirely on topic but while by no means a hot, or even good, deal the Dell website now has the mini 9 resurrected but starting at £229! Only Dell knows why or for how long. Against that price the OP's Dixon's price for the 10 seems very hot.

However, Dell also seems to have removed the Mini 10 , not 10v, from the main site (although the 10 still appears in the two day "back to school" deal area). I suspect the 11Z is about to put in an appearance.

Here's hoping!!! :-D I must admit I am surprised at the number of Dell Mini 10v Netbooks that are now showing listed within the Dell UK Outlet - not sure if that's a good sign!

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

I think you'll find big numbers like that just indicate a cancelled order from say Dixons or PC World.

Good price, but this has an awful trackpad that makes spending more money on something like a NC10 well worth up.

Mmm, cancelling orders with Dixons and PC World! :-D

Must admit I am considering it but I'm a tight-fisted git so I'm trying to talk myself into buying one...had considered the 8.9" Acer Aspire One 3G Netbook deal via Dabs but it's difficult to decide on which to go for...especially when I have four cold cans of cider calling to me in the fridge! :whistling:

I've just gotten the ASUS 1005HA, and I have to agree. It's super-snappy, and I'm very pleased with it - and the battery life means that it just trumps the Dell with 3 cell battery.

The only thing that put me off the NC10 was the size of the trackpad - not heard anything bad about the Dell.

Agreed - the bottons on the dell are funny (in the trackpad), but for me useable unlike the NC10.

Agree the 3 cell battery is a downer - but beggars cannot be choosers at the price I'm paying for my two Mini 10V's

There were a few 6 cell Mini 10's yesterday - but were difficult to spot amongst the multitude - and they were the same £162 ex vat price as the 3 cell units.

BTW I saw four - yes four - Mini 10's on display at my local Currys yesterday going for clearance BUT at a hefty £279!

I ordered one of these mini 10s from Dell yesterday. How is your order progressing? my delivery is 10th September or earlier. I am going on holiday for 2 weeks on the 9th which could cause a problem. Hvae you had any more news on your delivery yet? my order status is showing as in production.

The one I ordered yesterday was £162.97 the price must have gone up today.

Hi, I just got back from ASDA Walmart in Manchester and there was an orange mobile broadband stand with 2 netbooks and a laptop on display. They had an EEE PC (not enitrely sure of spec but it was the 8gb SSD one) for just £4.89 a month. For that you only get 500mb limit but for browsing on the train like I would use it for it aint to bad is it? And for proper browsing/downloading I could use my home wifi and college etc.

And I think its an 18 month contract, =£88.02. That seems far to good to be true, what is the catch. I googled and you do have to be an existing orange customer, but simply slapping in a free orange sim card in your mobile as proof should be enough proof right?

Is this a good deal? Or is there some massive catch like if you go over the 500mb limit they fine you a load of money. Or do they take the WIFI capability out of the netbook so you cant use WIFI and are forced to use the dongle?

Anyway guys just though Id let you know, im gonna post this post on several netbook topics just to spread the word and open debate on whether its any good and should i do it.

EDIT:Actually I think it was probably just the dongle that was free, not sure though as they did write "FREE" on the paper card that list the features of the Eee PC underneath. Anyone clarify this?
