Correct, but are they needed? There is a on board ATI gfx chip which was driving my Dell 22 monitor today at 1680x1050 (It's max resolution) absolutely perfectly.

do the ones with on board graphics have a hdmi socket and are they all single core thanks

Price excludes vat and delivery, cant find one at this price.

I think they would be ideal as an alternative to Acer Revo nettops.

Could be, but for XBMC purposes the Revo's still better!

Perhaps but trying to find a decent affordable Revo is becoming difficult especially with the newer model coming out - the added bonus for the Zino is the inclusion of an optical drive, which would be handy for CD/DVD ripping to disk.

at least you could upgrade this if needed, maybe even a blu ray drive

Very true - should be easy enough to get done, especially with keeping it all internal as well!

Actually cracking it open to do hardware upgrades looks like a piece of p!ss! lol

Your adding the £20.00p discount code to it once you get through to the checkout part?

Sort it by price (low to high) and there are several showing up as "Range: £169.50 - £188.34; Price excl. VAT and delivery".

Yes but go into it and there is not one for 200.00 with 20.00 off

Never mind found it

Seen a mini for 150.00 but its only got a 600 screen so no HD and windows xp, but its cheap. n450 chip is this good?

Mac mini rip off much?..

Decent enough if it comes with a large enough hard drive but also a six cell battery.

Windows XP Home Edition is more than ideal for using on that netbook.

Bear in mind there might also be a discount code for it as well, to drive down the price a bit more.

desktop with a 6 cell battery?

They have hdmi yes and also and e-sata port.

Sorry meant Dell Inspiron 1012 for 150 delivered, mini netbook.

Base Inspiron Zino HD without graphics / AMD Athlon 2650e (1.6GHz, 512K) / Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64 BIT) / 250GB HD (7200RPM) / 2048MB (2x1024) 800MHz DDR2 Dual Channel / 8X DVD+/-RW Drive including software

For £180 with 1 year warranty - not bad for a browsing machine. Hot.

Is this any better than Acer Revo ?

Do these come with Keyboard/mouse??

Depends - Single core cpu, no hardware accelerated gpu for video... no good for a home media PC. Should be ok for general purpose though.

There’s an XPS 16 with the gorgeous RGB-LED screen and an i7 Quad for £732.
I’ve used one of these and the upgraded screen is easily the best TFT I’ve seen on a laptop; it blew me away.

Studio XPS 16
Intel Core i7 Processor 720QM (1.60GHz,6MB cache)
8X DVD+/-RW
500GB HD SATA (7, 200rpm)
4096MB (2x2048) 1333MHz DDR3 Dual Channel
16in RGBLED Black Leather Edge to Edge Full HD1080p with TrueLife
Battery Primary 6-cell 56W/HR LI-ION
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64 BIT)
£732.41

Umm so why is the Revo better for XBMC?

Yes, wired keyboard and optical mouse and all install disks.

The CPU may be only single core but it is a much faster design than Atom so performance should match or beat a dual core Atom.
I can’t imagine that the ATI IGP doesn’t support hardware acceleration of video!

As far as I can tell, all Zinos have onboard Radeon 3200s which is fairly capable, does hardware decoding and should handle hd fine - paired with the 6850e cpu it can handle blu ray.

yes. The ion chipset is a 9400m, which kicks the crap out of the 3200 in the zino

Thanks for the deal. I am pleased you posted but will pass - after comparing the spec's to average Netbooks it is hard to justify at all (particularly given the things it lacks that Netbooks have standard).

Ordered one, is it going to be better than my several year old Dell Dimension 3100 - does anyone know

If you're just going to be using it for web browsing, a few films and some light office work it'll work like a dream.

refurbs at that price

thanks chaps, my current pc is coming up to 5 years old and i've been meaning to replace it with one of these for a while. Yes, browsing and very light office work (!). I was looking for phrases in the spec like 'dual processor and 2GB' and so on, but i couldn't see them - hence my confusion.
I don't really get the whole 'HT PC' malarky, why would you want to plug your pc into your tv ?

I feel old and tired now...

no, the 9400m has a PassMark score of 320 if you check the high end page. It's more or less an 8600m gt so it's not really low end.

I’d been looking to buy one of these for a while and went for a 1.5GHz dual core, 3GB Ram and 500GB HDD for £232 delivered. I needed a higher spec than the £180 one as it will be a multi purpose machine and needs the extra grunt.

Any chance of a direct link to the Dell Inspiron Zino for £200??

Are the Athlon 2650e 2850e chips better than the Atom 330s in the Revo?
Do these things make a noise (hum) when left on?
Can these handle HD streaming (iplayer/ MKV)?
How much power do these things suck when left on (idle) and working (max)?

I was going to get a Revo today, but may consider this if I can leave it on all the time and watch iplayer in HD through my telly?

Any advice would help. Thanks.
