Any cold votes please explain!

This seems a fairly good deal.

Go to your local Aldi and if you're lucky you might be able to pick up a Medion P6512 for £349 (see link for specs)...

aldi.medion.com/md9…ldi

It's worse than the Dell on most counts but importantly it uses the same ATI 5470 graphics card. If you do find one, you might want to wait until close to Xmas to buy it. Aldi tend to drop prices of and spare electronic goods just to get them shifted. You might just get the P6512 for £300.

can someone explain why so cold???

I was lucky enough to buy a similarly specced n5010 laptop from Dell Outlet yesterday for £360 delivered. The only differences being that the HD is 320 Gb & I won't know if it's got basic Intel graphics or ATi 5470 until it turns up. Whilst the better graphics would be nice, for £360 who's going to complain?

I became aware that Core i5 n5010 laptops were available @ Dell Outlet for £340 upwards last week and started checking the site regularly from Saturday onwards. Eventually my patience was rewarded and there were some available yesterday morning.

By today there seems to be only 1 spec available, a Core i7 quad-core model which is still cheaper than this deal. Check them out here if you're interested.

Of course Dell Outlet laptops are refurbished. In my experience virtually all laptops ordered from them are as good as new. Some may come with minor scratches but these are normally flagged up by Dell who describe them as 'Scratch and Dent' rather than 'Certified Refurbished'.

I can't compare this deal fairly to a refurbished laptop so I won't vote either way. All I can say is that this doesn't strike me as a particularly good deal. The ATi Radeon 5470 is a reasonable graphics card and much better than the integrated Intel graphics, but it's not in any way a proper gamer's graphics card.

Remember to use the £25 off voucher code if you order from Dell Outlet - V4WM0M885KFVLW (expires Friday 17th December).

If you have chosen an i5 model from the outlet it will most probably have the 1gb 5470, even if it did not list it.
Most i3 models are integrated.

dont think worth it really, can get a similar sony E series with configurable options basically the same spec as this with i370 and a 5650gpu for the same money with configurable options and better build (esp in keyboard iirc)
thats before looking at clearance options when they come up
maybe even an xps15 from dell - alround nicer even if would be lower spec (not looked)

Cheers for the heads up about the i5 450 models available from the dell out let, just order one for about 370. Not that computer savy, but I think it should fit my needs.
If its anything like the one stated in the deal then happy days... now I just need to get that home server sorted

Entirely agree with your sentiments, I have ordered a certified refurbished N5010 aluminium with Core i7, 4GB RAM and 750GB 7200rpm HD for £440 all inclusive. Again not sure what graphics will be but either way I'm happy with the price I paid.
Look forward to receiving it in the next few days.

If anyone's still reading this thread, the laptop did indeed contain an ATi Radeon 5470 1 Gb graphics card when it turned up. What a brilliant bargain!

Also it looks just like a new laptop. Perfect!

Couldn't wait until Christmas couldn't resist checking out mine (N5010 aluminium with Core i7, 4GB RAM and 750GB 7200rpm HD for £440 all inclusive) looks perfect as new and it came with 1GB ATI HD 5650 well chuffed!
Used Windows 7 Disk Manager to resize partitions to suit.
