Aren't these the ones that make good hackintoshes?

Dell 755 is pretty old kit now!! Probably last you another year before you'll have to replace it unless youre going to use it just for web browsing and nothing more. Save your cash.

I'm running W10 on a PC of the same vintage. It works okay for the basic stuff I do on it, but I would not buy a machine of this vintage now.

And I've upgraded the disk to an SSD, which makes up a bit for the slow CPU.

This is not worth almost £2000 , that RRP must be from 15+ years ago

Way better for way less on eBay.

My opinion dell 755 is now too old, try and snag a hp 8200 from ebay probably 4 or 5 years newer..

Would be a 'deal' at £40. Not really worth anything to most people however. I have taken much better down to the tip.

Where did they find these?

Might be good if you're looking to open a museum

Core 2 Duo, wow, welcome to 2007!

what would you be upgrading from? Pentium 4?

Sorry OP this is a pretty poor deal, the machine is probably worth £50 and maybe £40 for the LCD

That RRP is straight out of Wowcher's back side, these machines could never have been £2000 even when new, even with a 22" LCD monitor. It dates from about 2010 I reckon and while these Core2duos are still usable when you bung in an SSD and 4GB or 8GB ram they're still not much good for watching HD videos or such like.

I have (and am writing from) Optiplex 745, CPU X3220/Q6600, 8GB RAM, SSD disk (through acpi), Radeon HD7700
This is about the max for this platform and its about OK for everyday stuff except virtual machines and heavy games. Most games run at HD res on medium settings.

PS. Cold for the price

£179 is a p-poor price, it's refurbished and very old - never worth anything like the claimed £2000 - maybe £500 new about 6 years ago

Yes, as I said I reckon it's worth £50 for the PC and £40 for monitor, and that's on the basis it would have a 12month warranty and in decent condition. I wouldn't buy one myself, it's too old.

having made my criticism on the price, I do happen to have a few of these on W10 doing fine, thank you

but the difference is: I value them as near worthless

(retired spares @ our place abroad)

£35 for the computer, £60 for the monitor, £10 for the keyboard and mouse, and about £15 for the Windows license.

So close to £70 too much for something that doesn't even have a GPU suitable for Windows 10 (these are Windows XP computers).
