The 1080p version comes with a TN panel screen. The 4K version comes with a (slightly better) IPS panel. Comments about screen are about half way down in the review below:

Remove gaming from the description and this is a very good priced laptop. Anyone thinking of buying a gaming laptop should remember that you would struggle to find a decent gaming PC at this price let alone a laptop.
For the others who want a fast, future proof laptop for productivity and media consumption it's a great deal, games on a low setting and resolution could be possible as a bonus.

Theres a red banner at the top of the outlet page:

"30% OFF INSPIRON 15 - 7567 GAMING SYSTEMS - SHOP NOW >
Use code DO756730 at checkout. Offer ends 05/08/2018. Offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer."
I assume this can't be combined with the 15% student discount?

It says 15% off all systems but can't be used in conjunction with any other promotion: dell.com/lea…-uk
Good spot. And as usual Dell have the weird pricing anomalies between models. Of the 4 listed, the three UHD ones look identical spec wise, but are a few quid different!

Good price, but not much of a gaming laptop with a 1050, would be better balanced with a 1050ti and i3/i5.
Great deal, was thinking of a new laptop and liked the spec on this, then the red banner appeared so pulled the trigger! Heat!
are these brand new or refurbished?
these are not even good deals only last week in outlet i saw the bottom spec model going for £500

the battery is built in these models and as someone already pointed out the graphics are not good the more expensive once it is very poor for that price point it should be 1060

final negative thing is the ram two 8gb sticks is better for performance in dual channel.

Refurbished
GTX 1050 ti for the win.

1050 garbage.
Looks like a good deal. I bought Dell with 7700HQ and 1060 earlier this year for £900 stacking codes. £300 discount for just downgrading from a 1060 to 1050 seems worth it
Such a mismatched mess of a machine. Top tier CPU bottom (ish) dedicated GPU and a 4k screen! How the hell will a 1050 power that?!
How will this Run Forza Horizon 3 & Forza 7? Forza Apex is also a game I look to play on this

It won't...but people will still buy
Let down by a 1050 non TI

the cheaper one with the 1080p screen is a better match TBH

Dual channel-or any- has no influence on performance these days, unless you use a server board

The 4K is for videos, not for games. The quality of panel also tends to be better. For example, the 4K panel used in the XPS15 is better than the 1080p panel they use.

Since I'm not interested in gaming (and thus the 1050 graphics card) this seems like a good specificiation laptop??
Is the 1050ti that much better? I brought this the other week and it has a 1050ti. Is it worth the extra £100? Or should I re order this and return the other
You can buy an ips panel and fit it easy enough. My 1080p come with an ips so I didn't have to. Also inverlst in an Intel 2x2 WiFi module, just Google or look on the drivers page for the one Dells supports.
I think I’ve got lucky. Got the 1050 ti and an ips panel. I think I’ll just ring customer service tomorrow and see if they’ll do anything about the price difference now. Thanks for the advice

1050ti is easily better
Buy this or wait until black Friday?
It's for my son's Christmas present.
Do you have to have a landline to checkout? I've tried inputting my mobile number in multiple ways but it still seems to "error" and I can't go any further without a landline. Seems a bit dated to assume everyone has a landline. This kind of thing makes me have second thoughts anyhow - if they make ordering difficult it's a bit of a warning for having to deal with them when things go wrong.

I'm a non-gamer but I always buy a laptop with an Intel HQ cpu & dedicated graphics. I find these useful for my use case, e.g. connecting to external monitors & compiling large C++ projects ... this is useful for software developer like me.
Bought an MSI laptop a few months ago with slightly worse specs than this, (8GB, i5) for the same price....think I might have to cash in on that and get this instead ffs...
i7 and a 1050?

Cool story Dell.

I thought your unable to stack codes with Dell...

I don't think I did that with my own codes. It was discounted then you could apply one code over the top. Now you've jogged my memory I tried to use the code off here and my employer code and it wouldn't let me stack.
Can't see this model or deal on Dell website. has it finished?
