Hi guys,

These prices are fairly normal at first sight, but there are quite a few items in stock at the moment. I just bought a 9560 but they have 9350, 9360 and 9550 in stock as well with varying specs

I think what really makes or breaks the deal is whether you can apply student discount. The link below gives instructions on how to apply, and will get you 15% off the VAT inc price. Please note the prices on the link usually exclude VAT

dell.com/lea…-uk

For example, take this unit

outlet.euro.dell.com/Onl…Q==

Dell XPS 9560 with i7 7700HQ, 16GB DDR4, 512GB SSD, GTX 1050 4GB, 1080P Screen and 97WHr battery with Win10 Home is £1,020.30 exc VAT, 1224.36 inc VAT

Student discount if you can get it brings it down to £1,040.70

The same laptop retails for £1,599 and you can currently get it with a 12% off code with SAVE12 making it £1,407.12

I'm not sure if there's an equivalent saving for students on normal Dell products, but if there isn't it's a nice saving assuming you are okay with the refurbished aspect although I see a lot being sold on ebay and a lot of the feedback states they are essentially new. Your mileage may vary in that respect

Was there that much bloatware that it needed a fresh install?
The standard Dell build tends to be a little out of date.
Plus it ships with a standard Windows NVMe driver, find out what SSD you have and install manufacturer specifci driver for an instant speed boost.

Mine had the Toshiba SSD which is a rebadged OCZ.
Some of the other standard build software wasnt any use to me since I was putting my own copy of MS Office on and my own a/v etc.

Gonzo's build is optimised drivers and bug free.
For instance, the Killer WiFi card software is all bloatware, better with just he driver.
Would also recommend looking at business class counterpart - precision m5510/m5520, which might have slightly worse graphics for gaming, but they come woth 3y warramty as a standard. Got a m5510 with i7 6820, 16gb ram 512ssd, Quadro M2000, 4k touchscreen and the bigger battery for 1100 including student discount last november + free 3 year warranty. But then I got a laptoo from workolace so I ended up returning it. Great bargains to be had if you shop around, stock gets updated daily twice 0745-0800 and 1445-1500, but I have not foklowed dell outlet for a while things might have changed a bit

They’ve gone a bit random with updates recently, but those times generally still hold true.
Cracking deal! Some absolute steals at the outlet. My previous experience has been very positive with them
