I was looking for a DAS and or NAS.
The das's are overpriced and I missed the hp microserver gen7.

Except for the sizewhich i can't do much about, I am concerned a bit by running costs. Your thoughts please is this worth doing or wait for the Hp gen 8 with a better processor Xeon E3-1220v3 Quad Core which is £455.

I think the only thing missing is the gigabit port card.
Your thoughts /opinions please

For £7 i stiched the 500GB hdd to the 1TB

Your have price, then pay now button - so you think great not realising that you have to scroll below to see vat and delivery - so maybe dell are using sharp practice! Unlike your humour or advice.
BTW show me any top 100 company whose accounts are correct.

If you're after something reasonably priced with a Xeon E3 CPU that'll take 4 HDDs you could do worse than the current HP ProLiant ML110 G7 deal from eBuyer - less RAM but has an optical drive. I run one with 4 x 4TB disks and an SSD for boot/OS drive in and it takes < 35W with the data disks spun down.
