This is a really strong deal on this chassis. I've seen it in the shops and the chassis is good quality. £399 for an R5, 8GB, 256 is a very strong offer on a Dell Laptop.

superb deal
This uses the 2nd gen Ryzen, where the newer 3500U gives a 10% performance hike (available for similar prices from PCW, albeit different brands). In all honesty though, I'm not sure you'd notice in real world use??
The only thing strong is the chassis.... the CPU is old 2500U and TN panel.
Plenty of 3500U deals with IPS

You need to look harder.... HP via Microsoft store with 3500U with a spinkle of £100 cashback takes it below £400

As I'm in the mood for sharing and it's Black Friday.... Here you go:

It's an Amex deal, so you need to load the £100 Cashback offer via Amex first. Then go via Quidco/TCB for that nice little extra on top, spec wise it ticks every box for mid-range Laptop, 3500U, IPS, SSD and 15.6" IPS (yes IPS) screen and it's not Acer (sorry I had to get that dig in).

All in, assuming the Quidco/tcb tracks, you have yourself the cheapest branded laptop for that spec bar none.

Sorry for further hijacking this thread. Currys have got what looks to be a very similar spec model (HP Pavilion 15-sw1507sa) for £449, which about a 10% First Direct VISA discount and 14% quidco would go down to c. £350. In the absence of an amex card, is this a reasonable alternative to the deal available on the MS store? Thanks.

Don't apologise, i'm in a good mood today. In the absence of an AMEX card, the Currys deal is good as well.
Due to competition, both laptops are identical in spec, it's just retailers deliberately change the model number slightly to fool consumers.
This is not expired? This is still listed as £399? However this is 2xxx series Mobile Ryzen, not 3xxx series, sadly.
