This monitor is still available at £199 delivered, while its not such a good catch as it was with the extra 10% off, its still quite nice so I have unexpired the deal and left the original comments below for reference.

-----------------
I have just ordered one of these from the Dell site for £179.28. Discounted price shows £199.20 but when you go through to checkout a further 10% will be discounted. Looks like a great deal for a true 1920x1080p monitor. Includes DVI, HDMI and VGA inputs.

Surely has to be the cheapest top brand 24"er in the UK and it is also covered by Dell's 3-year warranty.

I know, I just listed the discounts to explain why the monitor is so cheap.

Was this one posted last week for around £200 before they put the price up again. If so its a better deal.

Also quidco?

Absolutely great price for this, was almost tempted to order 2. Went through quidco, think its 4% from dell which isn't loads but another little bonus if it validates.

Thanks OP

Hot from me!

Great price.
Would have gone for it, but only recently bought the AG Neovo 22" from Scan.

unbelievable deal

I posted the original one at £209 ... this is amazing ...

excellent monitor for the price ....just remember that the res is 1920x1080 for best viewing
so your video card if you're using a pc will have to cope ...

will this work with quidco?

Anybody know of any reviews for this monitor?

Also 'D'ohnut' can you tell us if quidco tracks when you find out. thanks

Will these be fine for XBox 360, i.e. 1:1 pixel mapping?

Yes it will be fine.

I got one last time and just checked, Quidco validated £6.87

can you attach the sound bar to these and use them as a TV once you attach a freeview box?

I have one of these and unless you are sitting right in front of it I would not like to use it as a tv. The viewing angles are very bad.

Just ordered one. Heat and rep added

Jiminy Cricket..... this monitor just keeps getting sweeter and sweeter....

Gonna have to wait for my ebay auctions to finish before taking the plunge, but damn, its like the Gods want me to have this monitor.... *continues to delude himself into buying it*

Ordered one this morning at £199.20 which I thought was a steal. I since saw this had 10% off bringing it down to £179.28, I cancelled the ordered and put it through again. Fantastic!

Wow

Very good deal, and I almost went for it before noting that it is only 1920x1080 rather than the 1920x1200 that is more normal for a computer monitor.
Great as a full HD TV with computer link, but less great as a dedicated high resolution computer monitor.

I ordered one a week back at £202... £20 down.. grrrr.... Any chance I can get the diff. back like what Amazon does?

Well, obviously it's intended to hit that middle ground between TV and monitor. I expect all the xBox 360 guys are very pleased it's x1080.

One again, cracking price.

Looks a nice piece of kit..

smokin!!!

Question. Will my little old 7600GT card handle this ok?

blineboy;3154372

It's fantastic, my mate has a Dell monitor, must be 3 years old now, and it got a fault last week, next day (I think, ) he had a new monitor from them.

No, and Amazon don't do the post order price guarantee anymore anyway.

Have you received the monitor yet? Could you give us a quick review if so?

I posted a small review with photos which I had earlier posted in old thread. Have a look! Gaming & Movies - Fantastic! I love it.. looks great even when you connect your laptop/desktop to dell monitor via VGA.Both my laptop and desktop have on-board graphics card but the display was amazing!

After this announce I am in a trouble.
I planned to buy 22" HP w2228h, but now that Dell is tempting.
Which one would You take for watching movies and office computer work?

cheers puls3

Go for this Dell monster.. you'll love it.. best for Gaming & Movies! ;-)

I was actually planning to get the 24-inch UltraSharp Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor - 2408WFP, how does it compare with this monitor? I'm just a bit worried with the resolution of 1920x1080 for PC gaming.

Any suggestions would be awesome!

Wall mountable Puls3?

Yes, I have mine wall mounted, vesa 100mm compatible.

Of course the 2408WFP would be better, its around twice the price. But for a value monitor this is fantastic value for money. Viewing angles from the top or bottom can be iffy from reviews, but you can't have everything

Yeap ... it is m8!

so tempted.

voted hot.

I'm only going to use this for my XPS420 so I'll be sitting right in front of it.

Nearly bought one last week when it first popped up, glad I showed some restraint now

Something as recent and as powerful as the 7600GT should have no problem (the power isn't needed, but it's a good guide to the capabilities). Unless your card is 5+ years old or you've got cheap integrated graphics your unlikely to have any problems.

For office work out of those two definitely this one as the HP has a glossy coating.

For movies the HP probably had the edge.

Most games that handle widescreen are supposed to be pretty flexible about resolutions in general.

Viewing angles on any 24" sub-£350 are going to be that poor so if you don't want to spend that much you just have to live with the artefacts caused by the poor viewing angles.
