Also available for this is the AS501PA SoundBar for Value Flat Panel Monitors - UKI Power Adapter for just £18.80 when purchased with the monitor.

A very fine monitor this, I sold one included with a computer system for £130. So this for £120 with a 3 year warranty is a bargain!

I'm about to buy a 19" w/s monitor, but see they are £100 on ebuyer.

What's the benefit of spending the extra £20 on a Dell?

 because they give dellicious deals!

Good question. As far as I can see, there are other monitors as good as or better for cheaper than this - and they also come with 3 years warranty. This isn't even one of Dell's ultra sharp versions.

e.g. this for £105.74 delivered if you have free shipping with scan:

scan.co.uk/pro…749

and it was several pounds cheaper than this on a today only deal last week (£97 ?), so knowing scan it will be back on TO soon...

EDIT: Note that you must put it in the basket to get this price.

I haven't seen that particular model, but for a few pounds more I'd go for this (£105.74 when added to basket before tomorrow noon). But if you are no hurry, perhaps wait until tomorrow's new TO deals at scan (usually update not long after noon) and see what they come up with. This same model was on a really good TO deal at £97 last week.

with the deals available.

As for free delivery you either have to have signed up for it when it was available on HUKD (last year?) or become a contributor to hexus.net and 'earn' it there after a number of posts (see hexus.net for details). You might also want to phone scan and see if they offer it to you. After tomorrow's new deals come along, perhaps...

I'm not being funny but widescreens beblow 20" are a waste of time. A normal 19 inch screen is bigger than this, plus you can get it for the same price or less.

yes, I know where you're coming from here. I've got a 20" Sammy and I think it's the best solution for me (22" is too big). I think it's definitely worth the extra for something you'll presumably be using for at least a couple of years.

Thing is I need a new TFT, will watch a few movies but mainly used for the internet and applications, shall i get a widescreen or normal? Also a few recommendations pls ?

TIA

Am I missing something? The price for the AS501PA Soundbar seems to be £30.55 not £18.80 when bought along with the DELL monitor.

Definatly get a widescreen. For watching movies, you'll usually get a better aspect ratio and get less black strips. (if you get what i mean)

Add the monitor to your basket, go to checkout and on the right sidebar will be the soundbar for £15+vat. Add it and it comes to £18 delivered with the monitor.

Is this the same monitor as the one i can select for £94 with the vostro 200 deal the only thing i see is the code difference, Dell™ 19" Value Wide Flat Panel (E198WFP) - UK/Irish [add £94.00]. is the SE198WFP silver and the E198WFP black. do these monitors have any onboard speakers? thanks.
