Don't trust Dell trade to save. Seems like a big scam! hotukdeals.com/mis…545

Worked fine for many many people the last time it was on. I ended up paying about £88 after cashback, the discount and the trade in.

I have got this monitor myself it has a fantastic quality screen and I don't regret my purchase one bit. However I never use the touch feature when I bought it I had this silly idea that I could use it on my lap when I was sitting up in bed but its far to heavy and big for that.

I like

Yep I have this too and screen is fab, never use the touch screen too I ended up paying around £71

I have used the cashback twice. One monitor & sent with no VGA cable. Still received the full amount.

Very good screens, have one at home and another at work.

Bought two of these last time. Excellent! The cash back is handled by a third party, who can be a bit sloppy. My first payment arrived promptly, but the second never arrived, despite chasing. I think they were confused because I sent the two old monitors in one carton; it was too difficult for them two understand that this related to two 'cash backs', Despite there being two sets of paperwork in the carton. However I contacted Dell and all was sorted within 48 hours.

it be good to know what monitors they trade in then.

Would an old crt monitor qualify for the cash? Contemplating geting either one of these or this -

I really like the idea of the touchscreen and it looks as though it can be a little portable as i have limited deskspace. The AOC looks amazing though.

if you search 'Dell ST2220T' in the forum, you'll find the price is getting higher.

Yes you can send old CRT monitors, others have done this previously I wanted to also but could not find a big enough box, tried to make 1 also like others did but epic fail lol

Done it a few times, bought old monitors on EBay for £10. Cashback was a bit slow

Possible quidco or tcb too. Got this a few months back when it was slightly cheaper. Hot from me

cashback took time, but in the end it all worke out, also got a lot of quidco- which meant this monitor cost around £80! great device

Excellent Monitor, It's IPS.

Cashback took a little over a month for me but no problems either way. There's also Quidco on this but took ~4 months to pay out.

I got one of these the last time the trade in offer was on, the monitor is really good, very clear, sharp and amazing colour definition, the touch screen needs a free USB to work and it is very sharp to to use,you do get a cleaning cloth and you do need it as the screen is shiny so finger prints show up the moment you touch it.

I did trade in my old LG 19" TFT, cost me about £10 to post to Dell, so please bear that in mind when ordering, the Dell monitor came within about a month, but the cashback offer took forever, about 5 months to receive, thankfully I did not have to contact Dell about the cashback.

Any questions please ask.

+1. touchscreen on home PC's such a useless implementation. I really don't know why MS bigs it up so much. The only place in the home I can see it being useful is in a kitchen where you tend to be on your feed a lot any ways
You'll never beat the speed and efficiency of a mouse & keyboard, unless of course we get mind controlled technology!

This is a good deal with the cashback in mind, but don't forget all the other sub £200 IPS panel possibilities.

I think part of it is that you can use such monitors with programes like photoshop/gimp etc...

This is really HOT!

Is it wall mountable? Also can it accept audio over HDMI?
Edited by: "Mentos" 22nd Dec 2011

Can this be mounted on the wall? Cannot find any details on the website.

Cannot be wall mounted I'm afraid.

Cannot be wall mounted I'm afraid.

i bought this monitor a few months back and it is fantastic

the screen looks amazing especially with a ps3 hooked up to it
only things to note are no wall mount option and there are no av connectors/scarts
otherwise this is a perfect buy. touchscreen is smooth and even the inbuilt speakers aren't that bad

Cashback only took about 1-2 weeks

all i can say is BUY IT!

Would an old crt monitor qualify for the cash?

On the face of it, yes, if it's under five years old, and is made by one of the companies they list. I'd double check before placing an order, though.

Bought this monitor when the deal last occurred in the summer. Easily the best monitor I have ever owned - the colour reproduction is amazing.

Once you have used an IPS panel like this, you will never buy a TN LCD screen (which is the majority of screens made) again...

I did the same deal last time, it's very simple. They even give you £10 towards sending your old one back. I sent in an old 17" CRT which still worked. When I ordered my new monitor didn't dispatch for a month, but they invoice you just before dispatch and the invoice date is what is used to make sure it's sent in on time i.e. I think it's 30 days from the invoice date. All handled quickly and promptly. Monitor itself is excellent, even if it didn't have the touch screen.

this is more expensive when i got it with the cash back 6 months ago, paid £179.99 plus £80 cashback.

not hot at all at this price

Not sure how will they value the trade in. I mean if I send them an old tft I can only sell for around £40 on fleabay (still in good condition just old tech), will they give me £40 or £80?

bad arm ache.

so wear do you find out what they will give you back on your old monitor ?

The specs list the touch screen as "optical". Is this the technology that uses light-beams across the screen like some shop tills used to? How does this compare with capacitative touch screens like most phones/tables use?

Also, could this screen be used with active shutter glasses to produce a 3D image? I guess all this needs is a suitably high refresh rate, and maybe HDMI 1.4 support

Ive done this deal before and the money you get back soley depends on what product you are buying. for this one any monitor you send back you get £80. I sent an old CRT i found in the garage and it was fine. Only thing is it has to still work.

Thanks for the valuable info. So technically I can grab a working junk from fleabay for £10, nothing to lose then

Ordered through epp link and it is £ 195.22 delivered

Using a touchscreen on a desktop computer seems a bit ... weird. I wouldn't mind the feature on a laptop though.

Do Dell sell any laptops with a touchscreen option?

Good deal but sadly i need to mount it on my desk clamp mount.

I got this for £90 after cashback,i searched ebay for a local cheap monitor and won one for £4,sent it in and got £90 cashback within 2 weeks,a great monitor for photo editing and great on ps3,colours look so vibrant and sharp compared to a standard non ips screen,a bargain at this price......get one
