Thought this looked like a good deal after missing out on the Vostro last week, several options to upgrade

Dual core for £479? Not great imo.

And £300 for an extra 4gb of RAM, lol!

Dell deals are not as good as they used to be, and whats up with dell using pentium processors in their £500+ laptops!

Well what else would you get - a laptop quad core CPU retails for about that much on it's own...

What a stupid comment.

And theres not that much wrong with Pentiums - they are just a Core 2 with some cache lopped off.

Hey knob, I never mentioned quad-core. You would struggle to find a laptop in this price range without a Core 2 processor.
Sorry I voted cold on the deal!

Isn't it the £ is not as good as it used to be and also the company has to borrow money as a much higher interest. Overall, the prices have gone up with the exchange rate.

Eh?

If you look into it it's not a great deal, but also not that bad...

You have to look past the processor and look at the 4gb Ram and 512mb Graphics card, then the upgraded 6 cell battery and 2mp webcam (most dell 15's come with either no webcam or only a 1.3mp)

There are still better deals to be had on the outlet, last week I bought this exact laptop, but without the graphics card or the webcam, and only paid £300... I also got a dell 15 with a celeron dual core 2.16ghz processor, 2gb ram, and 250gb hard drive, with a gloss blue cover and an upgraded wirless card to "N".... for only £222... so there are the occasional bargains still there to be had on the outlet, its just a case of catching them....

good points captain -- cant vote as deal just not so tempting for me---warm
