This is a ***** deal!! These specs can be found on cheaper laptops and higer quality such as Toshiba, HP Compaq etc etc...Voted an arctic Cold.

plus you could get 6% quidco so it could be £666 approx! not bad, what you guys think?

Voted chilly... not really all that for the money (the only good thing is the processor and no one is going to use the full power)

Got the same spec (but with a lesser proc T6400) from Dell Outlet with a full HD screen (the one above this) for £588 delivered

studio 17 due to be improved like the studio 15?

dell outlet price not really relevant as sound slike a custom build and basically second hand anyway.

If no one is going to use it then it's not really a goood thing!

cheapskate - id spend the (i think) extra 25 quid and get the new studio 15 which has alot better graphics, supposedly better speakers and no drive ejection problems tbh (only saw bluetooth and hdd upgrades - will be more if i missed some)

Thanks for that. I've cancelled and am reconfiguring an order now. It'll cost a little more and I'll lose free postage but in the scheme of things, I think it'll be worth it.

Cheers mate - owe you one:thumbsup:

Against the original deal... for an extra £50 you could get this from Tescos

The XPS 16 is a higher spec build wise... this has a smaller BUT quicker drive , better screen and has got some very good reviews. Tempted myself tbh.

The processor on this one is a "P" series processor, which means its power consumption is lower than the T series (25w vs 35w). It's also a bit better than the T6400

So, worth it - it's more powerful and more energy efficient!

Compared to the outlet deal - this has a better graphics chip, blu-ray, 2 year warranty and better CPU.

Hi, I didn't realise there was a new studio. What's the difference? How can I tell? Would it mean that the old one is considerably cheaper and therefore worth getting?

I've been thinking of getting a 13 or 15 inch, portable (lightweight) laptop recently and the DELL studios look good.

Is there much of a performance difference between the studio and the xps and the inspirons?

Cheers
